this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think if he falls to us, Randall Gay could be of good value to us in the 7th..he's 5'100 or so and runs a 4.33 and was physical in Saban's defense [Edited on 4/25/2004 by Halo]...

I\'m kinda hoping that Jarett Payton will fall to us. We could use a 3rd RB behind Stecker, but more importantly having Sweetness\'s kid on the team might get us more media exposure.

We will probably get someone who has a criminal record. Actually, I think all the Saints were looking for this year, were high character guys but with talent of course. Makes you scratch your head and say, \"hmm, I wonder what\'s really been going on in that locker room.\"
It\'s just a thought, you you hear it out of every Saint\'s personnel\'s mouth who has talked about our picks. You\'ve heard it from some vets on the team saying that the younger players need to grow up. Maybe that\'s why interviews at the combine are so important. I think good character goes along way and especially if a guy has talent. It seems all these guys we picked so far have great attitudes. I would have to say I was disgusted at the Will Smith pick when I first heard it on the radio, but then I look at who was there at the time also. I really wasn\'t high on Wilfork, just another player for people to b*tch and complain about a DT with weight problems. I think that was the issue with him. Smith and Watson are both leaders, something that this defense needs. I am really looking forward to get these guys in here and see what they can do. I feel the Saints are not done as far as a CB goes. With an extra 2nd next year, maybe we can use that pick to get another corner in here. Also, we might be able to pick up some UFA CBs if available. As far as UFAs are concerned, I can\'t think of too many off the top of my head. I am sure we will get at least 1 player in each position and maybe at least 2 corners. I\'d like to bring in a kicker to challenge Carney. |
