It looks like the draft fetish this year was intelligence. Henerson is an abberration to the pattern, but he does fit the other Haslett fetish for speed and, as a local, some fans are going to consider this the greatest draft ever simply because he went to LSU.
Collectively, we drafted: 1. Intelligent people 2. Good character people 3. Good work ethic people I'm not so sure about the positions we drafted, but I think it's safe to say that we raised the average IQ on this team by about 50 points this weekend. I think that explains Smith over Wilfork for example. On the whole, I'm encouraged by the infusion of intellect. As much as anything we have been suffering from a disproportionate number of dumb guys on both sides of the ball. I do think this is the way to long term success. I am dismayed by the continued refusal of this front office and coaching staff to meaningfully address the CB position. On the flip side, I'm really pleased with our new fullback. |

Hey BMG....I noted the same common denominator in another post. Good to see more people making good observations. Intelligence translates to awareness in my book. When you get someone like Will Smith that combines the two, it\'s potentially deadly for that QB or RB on the other side of the line.
