Are you seriously asking if I'm serious?

Of course Marino was a better QB, and its not even close.

Its an opinion.

But here's my reasoning.
I saw both play their entire careers.
Marino was better.
Its not close...yet.

Drew solidified being a HOFer with his record breaking last season....when he breaks Unitas TD streak record this season.....he'll solidify being a first ballot HOFer......this guys opinion is irrelevant.....because Brees accomplishments s*** on his opinion.

i don't believe inevery situation is at all the same, those lawyers treat cases differently, by star, by wworth, age, how much u are liked, disliked hundreds of senerio's and brees for one is in the worst because its all the above. its fat
jack motherload too to cash in on the qbs that are on fire.
its a contract that show have been taken cared of last year when he is still under the last year. it shows respect that way in the nfl. and if they tried they did'nt try hard enough.

I know Danno can't admit he's wrong is borderline pathological - he's got this one dead to rights and I got back 'em here...

Consider these factors...

Marino did what he did with Shula personnel built to ground it out and play defense...

The record Drew broke was set by Marino in only his second year...

Rules changes give a big advantage to wide receivers today as compared to Marino's day when defenders were allowed to actually play defense...

Marino still found his guys even when smothered with a more aggressive, permissible style of defense...

Watch them both, and let me say this first...

Nobody has wanted, waited for a winner in New Orleans more than me (though many are right there with me)...

While not all Brees/Individual fan interactions are positive - his public persona and community work are exemplary and makes all Saints Nation proud...

I've loved seeing the dynamic of Payton-Brees in New Orleans as much as I hated watching Walsh-And He Who Shall Not Be Named steal victories from my beloved Dome Patrol...

Brees is a Great Quarterback and New Orleanian...

But, Virginia, Marino was the better quarterback...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

You lost me there, bud

How can you be "built to ground it out and play defense when you are throwing for 4,500 a season? The whole thing about Marino is that he never had a running game, he never had a real defense to win it all.

That team was built like that before Marino got there...

Miami had LSU's David Woodley, a running attack , and the Killer B Defense...

Enter Marino...

And as Marino's career progressed, with the focus on the strength of his arm - the offense changed, and the defense got old...

Miami had always been a grind and D team before Marino - you accentuate my point of how great a quarteback Marino was to pass so successfully early on with a team that was not built to his talents...
