my gripe.
My apologies to all if this is such an obvious thread but let me get this right; Nick Fairley breaks the law twice in three months, which by all accounts, is not good because it's THE LAW and Goodell has not spoken up about it. Odd because I thought he had the dealings with off-field issues...
I don't really need to finish this as you all know what I am getting at. This subject will never get old as long as inconsistencies in the rules occur. Goodell is such a moron he will probably not know what to do for the best as he has really painted himself into a corner and opened himself up to all kinds of criticism. |

Making an example out of Fairley won't help Goofdell with the lawsuits. So, he'll just slap him on wrist and sweep it under the rug.

But it's not about making an example, it's about doing the right thing by your own rules. Basically, I know there are inconsistencies in laws all over the world but at least the punishments should be commensurate with the crime.

You're talking about Goofdell. He's in it for himself.

... I think it's more a case of Goodell making sure he has the facts straight before he proceeds & letting the courts handle their end first ... if 'bountygate' has taught him anything, it's to not jump to conclusions & for crissake, make sure he has his ducks-in-a-row before he goes forward with fines/suspensions. Fairley and a few of his teammates have some fines & suspensions coming, my guess is you won't see it until the regular season starts.

The hammer will come down here too. I'd say atleast a 1 game suspension.

Not wanting to beat a dead horse here but why is it that players that stayed with the Saints got harsher punishment than ones that left, with the exception of Hargrove due to his stating on TV "Pay me my money"?
