In his senior season at Troy, he led the nation in interceptions with 8, and was named to the All-Sunbelt Conference team.

"Bucs re-signed exclusive rights free agent CB Elbert Mack.
Mack, 24 in July, saw too much action as Tampa Bay's nickel back last year, struggling badly in pass coverage and doing little to help the Bucs' awful run defense. He did have three picks, but ideally would be no more than a dime back moving forward. The Bucs need badly to draft a corner on Friday."

I don't think he was expected to be much more than that to start with.

I like bigger CB's too, but if we signed Darrell Revis I'd be instantly OK with small CBs.
