The reason they yelled stay off the quarterback wasn't to protect him, if the team gets found doing contact at this point they lose practices
It happened to the seahawks yesterday, they did contact in training and goodell docked two days of practice from them |

It wasn't like they were out there with pads, and running true regular season contact drills (which is what Seattle was doing I think) and actually tried to tackle him. But I do agree they need to be careful even tho this was just something silly really the practices are being taped and the NFL will use any and everything to try and put more sanctions on the team.
