I live in Virginia now but am looking forward to going back home for this game. I have this friendly rivalry with a buddy of mine and we've gone to the last couple Saints/Skins games at FedEx. He's still got a sour taste in his mouth from that Meachem strip in '09
Anyway, He will be taking the trip as well (his first to N.O) so it'll be nice for him to have some allies lol |

Davey, I went to the Lions @ Saints game in December. The saints fans were AMAZING. I avoided wearing my Lions jersey out downtown because although the fans were great, I would not want one of the waiters in a restaurant to let the chef know "shrimp po boy...and it's for a Lions fan!". I don't need any "extra sauce" on my food. I'm just paranoid that way.
Inside the dome, there was friendly ribbing from the Saints fans, but there were also plenty of compliments/friendly things said about my team. I've been to plenty of away games, and New Orleans is BY FAR the best road trip you will make. Have fun! |
It's all GOOD!

Two years ago (after we won the SB) I was at the Atl Monday or Sunday night game that we needed to win for the wildcard. The guy behind me looks at my Saints shirt and starts yelling "Raise your hand if you're a wildcard team, Raise you're hand if you're a wildcard team!" I turned around and said, " I can't, my Super Bowl ring is too heavy." Even Falcon fans were smiling at him. |

My ugliest experiences at the Georgia Dome were during the Vick years. Something of a thug mentality among FoulCons fans in those days, and my wife just got sick of the bullcrap & wouldn't go back. As she said then, "we can't afford to pay money for that."
I've never been back to the Georgia Dome for a Saints game since the MARTA thing ... guess that woulda been the '05 or '06 season. Maybe they're a little better now that we've won a Super Bowl! |

Hey guys. So a guy over on the Skins board says Galactic is going to be playing at Tipitina's the Saturday night before the game. I think I should go check it out... I hear great things.

If I was coming in from out of town, that is probably what I would do. They are a really good band. I'm local, so I only go see them when it's free (no cover), or if I can get my name on the guest list, LOL. But I saw them back in May and they really put on a good show.

Galactic would be an excellent choice, and Tips is a great venue. I'd recommend it highly!
