If there's a positive connotation to being out-of-the-know -- "selective amnesia," "total avoidance" or "blissfully unaware" are the words that come to mind -- then Saints safety Roman Harper is your man. Harper said if there was heavy criticism of him and fellow safety Malcolm Jenkins over their performances in the final game of New Orleans' most recent season, and there were more than a few mounds of it, he hasn't heard a word.
San Francisco tight end Vernon Davis catches a first-quarter touchdown pass as Malcolm Jenkins and Roman Harper (41) collide during an NFC playoff game Jan. 14 at Candlestick Park. Whether you choose to believe he didn't know they received the brunt of criticism for the defense's inability to stop tight end Vernon Davis (seven catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns) and close the deal in the 36-32 divisional playoff loss at San Francisco, appreciate his claims of short-term memory loss and ability to not acknowledge chatter. Those are traits defensive backs absolutely must possess, and Harper, at least, fully is aware of them. "We take it as a team," Harper said. "We lose as a team, we win as a team. I don't think there's a reason why you could point a finger at me and Malcolm, or anyone else. We're all in the same locker room, and that's all it is." read more |

The secondary is the only concern I have. I still think Quaddus would be more of a Sharper than Jenkins ever will. Jenkins needs to rotate out with Harp

3 Saints turnovers in the 1st quarter and 5 total pretty much sealed the game.
The Niners DBs were great and their DL gave Drew fits. It's simply not fair to blame Harper and Jenkins. It was a great play by a great player too. |

A look at the Lions game will reveal that the Lions dropped 3 Int. The 49ers made the Saints pay for those. The date/year is wrong.

And you have to give credit to Vernon. He's a great athlete. Can't stand him but he's just difficult to cover.
