Michael Vick denies gay internet rumors

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick took to the V-103 airwaves Tuesday morning to clear up those persistent rumors swirling about his sexuality.

Now the issue is murkier than ever.

According to Loren "Hollywood" Henderson, Vick called reps at the "Frank Ski Morning Show" last week to ask for some airtime to discuss a recent fake Internet news story quoting Vick as saying: "I've been a gay man hiding behind lies about my sexuality for years." The story, posted by something called the Global Associated News, initially looks real -- until you click on the story's sourcing link at the bottom.

Browsers are then informed: "Ha! Did someone get you? The story you read was a complete hoax! If you are reading this page, it's likely that you read a 'fake' story from the 'Global Associated News'-- a totally bogus news source."

Apparently, Vick didn't get the joke. On Tuesday, the NFL star addressed the issue, telling Ski and sports director Chuck Smith by phone: "I won't even feed into that . . . Everybody who knows me, knows how I get down. It's not even an issue." (continued)
