Saints Defensive End Greg Romeus tears ACL
1 Attachment(s)
"Saints interim coach Joe Vitt revealed Thursday that second-year DE Greg Romeus tore his ACL during OTA practices.
Romeus tore his other ACL as a senior at Pitt and missed his entire rookie year while recovering from November, 2011 reconstructive surgery. At one point a big-time prospect in college, Romeus simply can't shake the injury bug. It's a fairly big loss for the Saints because they are so thin at defensive end. Out 6-8 months.
He was running and it gave out. |
He can be back in time for the SB
|
F**************K!
|
Damn, y'all! This **** is really starting to scare me. Daniel broke his thumb, Romeus tore his ACL and MCL. We need Brees back NOW!
|
Cut him.
|
Well that sucks balls...
|
Disappointing. Hope this isn't the end of his young career.
|
I was getting excited to see him play. ****!
|
Romeus, Romeus, Romeus...
We were all looking forward to seeing what this kid could do. Wow! |
God damn, Andre Carter here we come!!!!
|
****
Was looking forward to seeing what he could bring to the defensive line rotation, we might never know now |
This BLOWS :(
|
Man I feel for the kind. This sucks so bad for him.
|
DL him now and bring in some more prospects

Does Brees have a magical elixir that will prevent broken bones and torn ACLs? |

SUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKS |
That may just do it for him... can't contribute if you're always in the tub.
|
So who's available?
|
I think we're fine with Smith, Jordan, McBride, and Galette.
I don't think anyone was depending on Romeus anyway. |
Depending on him? No.
Sure we're all in agreement that his potential under Spags was exciting Don't forget about Martez |

Braun? Yes. Brains? We don't know yet... |

Being that he played MLB I suspect that his coverage skills are much better than most DE's. |

Damn I was so pumped when we drafted him. I was riding on his jock!
I wanted this kid to just explode on the field! I hate to say , it's all but over for him. |
That sucks for Greg and the Saints and the fans. I think they'll stick with him. His potential is very high when he's healthy. If he gets hurt again next year, I think he's done.
|
Same here, I feel bad for him. You can't make the club if your in the tub. Good luck Greg. This kid did not suck. He was adam good football player.
|
Time to get Charleston back in the mix. He is no worldbeater but just a real solid backup that will make little misstakes and every now and the come up with a big play.

I hate this news, out of all the DE's I thought he could have been the best under Spags. Maybe we will try to keep him somehow.
|
Wilson is gonna explode at that position this year, we'll be fine.

Probably selling furniture again... As for Romeus, this sucks big time, and it might be a sign that his physique just doesn't have what it takes to be a professional contact sport athlete. I was really looking forward to seeing him take the field in preseason like most of you, but I guess there's always 2013. :bng: |
