Bob West column for Wednesday, April 28 Archie Manning, as an NFL quarterback, was the poster boy for what can happen to a great football player stuck in an inept organization. The second player selected in the 1971 draft, he paid a severe price for being indentured to the New Orleans Saints. In a town where witchcraft and voodoo have deep roots, Manning was cursed by management that ranked with the worst in professional sports.
