Pak and Gator, what you say is true. We can\'t put all of the blame for the recent decline on Brooks. The o line has played poorly as has the entire defensive unit. But I still have to say that AB has not played up to his level -- the level he himself has shown he can play at -- for a couple of weeks. And i am still pissed that he refuses to acknowledge his mistakes.

I for one sincerely hope that he does mature and become the true leader we need to take this team to the Superbowl. But I don\'t see that happening this season. Aaron needs to mature more if he is to be considered a top level NFL QB.

I have to disagree with you. Brooks has had plenty enough time to produce. So he won our only playoff game, that\'s history now. The time to win is now and he doesn\'t look too impressive. A quarterback doesn\'t need a couple of years to become the real deal. I\'m afraid his mechanics are bad and unless he uses his legs more and escapes the pocket before its too late, things will continue to go south for him. Yes, he will have a good game from time to time but they\'re too seldom lately. Everyone is bashing the defense right now but NFL teams are going to score on anyone so you have to score touchdowns to win. I would just love to see Haslett at least replace him when he\'s playing bad and let\'s see what happens. This may make Brooks hungrier when he gets another chance.

Well Rob, you never know. Pulling Brooks when he\'s playing poorly could work. But it could also backfire.

In your defense, it did seem to work this past week for the Tigers (LSU). Saban started Clausen this week after the poor performance Randall had against \'Bama\'. Then after a few uneventful series against Ole Miss, he put Randall in in relief. Randall had a much better game.

Maybe the implied threat that Brooks has to earn his position (like when he beat out Blake last year) could provide the inspiration he needs to get back in top form.

Just speculation...

pulling your starting qb is different in college then it is in the pros. its totally different.and how can u say that brooks hasnt shown you anything, the man is second in the NFL in TDs give me a break people what more do you want? he is running the NEW GREATEST SHOW ON TURF and is running it well. we lead the league in scoring. he has had 2 bad games that we should have won but we were still in all of them to the very end. brooks should be commended for some of his performances and i beleive that he is the right man for the job, he played bad on sunday, i acknowledge that, but he shouldnt be benched or waived or anything else
