Running back continues to offer headaches for the Pittsburgh Steelers. With uncertainty around their passing attack and the New Orleans Saints rich with talent, should they try a trade for quiet producer Chris Ivory?

There is always a reason a team goes 13-3 and for the New Orleans Saints it's all about the offense. From the wide receivers to the running backs and tight ends there is Pro Bowl talent. At the heart of it all is quarterback Drew Brees. The All-Pro, record-breaking passer has become the one person standing between New Orleans and a losing season after the "Bounty" scandal decimated the coaching staff and the defense. That more than most reasons could explain why Brees has not signed his long-term contract with the team. He, however thinks it's because of his role in the CBA agreement last year. Several unnamed players shot back at those comments, calling Brees a "fair-haired boy of the players union." This kind of distraction is exactly what might sink the Saints in 2012, especially how fragile the front office is. New Orleans lost a number of high draft picks because of the scandal and might have no way to replace them unless they make some deals. One player who can help is Chris Ivory. The former 2010 draft pick has played very well when given chances but with Darren Sproles and Heisman winner Mark Ingram ahead of him, finding touches is getting harder. That said some teams might have interest in trading for him.

Personally, if I was going to trade one of our RBs, it would be Ingram.

You can't be serious?! :rolleyes: A first round pick 2 drafts ago not even in his prime yet, sidelined by a minor injury and you trade him?!

Sometimes you need to know when to cut bait... The bait I would cut would be Ivory.. and I love watching that dude run... But h is fragile...

Ingram had no chance of having a great first season with ZERO preseason and being one of a stable... kid never had a chance to get his rythem... I am ignoring his draft status.. win some... lose some.

Its a tough call... really

I don't WANT the Saints to trade any of our RBs, but if we needed to trade someone to replace an injuried player, I would trade Ingram.

It's an easy call.

Chris Ivory - injured throughout college with barely enough stats to record. Injured every NFL season, showed flashes of ability that ended as soon as our starters healed. Why do you think we signed Ingram??

Now, if there are any question marks on Ingram, they come following the beginning of his Junior season. Starts the season with minor knee surgery, misses the first few games, has a few good games but never goes for more than 100 yds the rest of the year.

Then he becomes a Saint, has a heel injury and a toe injury and basically takes the season to heal.

Should be noted that Ingram was injuried in the 62-7 win over the Colts and should not have even been on the field at the time.

Don't do it Lommis don't trade him unless we aleast a 3 round pick for him.

Running backs now a days a dime a dozen. I wouldn't want to lose Ivory, and trading Ingram that's not going to happen.
