Haynesworth out for the Titans ???
Haynesworth 'mistakenly' misses workout
By Terry McCormick, tmccormick@nashvillecitypaper.com May 05, 2004 Albert Haynesworth’s agent called his absence from Tuesday’s mini-camp work an honest mistake. Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher was angered to the point Tuesday of being mostly unwilling to even discuss Haynesworth, who has opted to work out in Knoxville rather than participate in the Titans’ off-season program in Nashville. Jason Waugh, who represents Haynesworth, said the defensive tackle, whose weight has reportedly ballooned some 30 to 40 pounds this offseason, had the mini-camp dates marked wrong on his schedule. “He actually is flying in there [Tuesday night],” Waugh said. “What he’s got on his calendar that it was Wednesday and Thursday. He was visiting a sick friend, and is flying from in from North Carolina. It was a sincere mistake in terms of what he’s got on his calendar. “I think him choosing to fly in tonight, rather than just driving over from Knoxville, suggests that it was really just a sincere mistake on his schedule. When I told him that it was actually [Tuesday] and not [today], he was shocked.” Waugh said he twice spoke to Fisher about Haynesworth’s absence, but it was a subject Fisher wasn’t very happy to broach with the media Tuesday. “You’re going to have to get in touch with him. I’ve got no message,” Fisher said. “Everybody else was here. I’m not concerned about Albert Haynesworth right now. I’m concerned about those guys that were in there working and have been working the entire offseason. This is Albert’s issue, not mine. If you want to talk about the team, I’ll talk about the team. I’m done talking about Albert Haynesworth.” http://www.nashvillecitypaper.com/in...&news_id=32863 [Edited on 7/5/2004 by saintz08] |
