Which Saint most deserves a trip to Canton?
Sam Mills should be in the Hall of Fame. Noone thought he should have been in the league, and when he got his shot, he responded with greatness. Even when you take away his small stature and long odds, you see greatness. When you add to that an impeccable character and communal spirit, I see a perfect example of what a Hall of Fame football player should be. If I had to chooe between him and Archie, I'd pick 51 in a heartbeat.
The questions is, who do you think should be in the Hall of Fame? If you were given the power to put one Saint in Canton, which one would it be and why? |

There isn\'t one in there yet who made his mark as a Saint. In the near future there will be several inducted that will have worn a Saints uniform such as Jim Taylor, Earl Campbell, and maybe even Ken Stabler.
As far as players who made their mark as a Saint before continuing a career elsewhere I would have to say the top 3 players with the best chances are in the following order: 1. Morten Anderson 2. Sam Mills 3. Ricky Jackson Don\'t expect to ever see Archie inducted. He had the talent but was on a perrenial loser and his individual numbers suffered from it compared to what they coulda/shoulda been. If Deuce McAllister and Aaron Brooks have long careers and continue to put up the numbers they have in the past, both of these players would have a good shot at Canton. |

Three names come to mind right off the bat.
#1 Stan Brock - best lineman the Saints have ever had bar none. #2 Rickey Jackson - His stature on and off the field speaks for itself #3 Sam Mills - Just deserves to be there like Rickey |

I agree with all of the names mentioned in here, but to be brutally honest I believe Morten will get the likeliest look to get in. There are more productive pass rushers than Rickey that have more skins on the wall that are struggling to get in. Rickey will a tough sell to all but Saints fans. More unfortunate is that for Sam Mills to have a shot, it will likely be at the cost of his life. Like it or not, his struggle with his health is the only thing that has brought him to the limelight since his retirement. He was unquestionably a long shot on a hard road to the NFL and he\'s overcome great odds to achieve what he has. I just think that in terms of standing out of the crowd at his position, Morten will get the best look.
