All of you guys need to check yourself. Seriously.

Did anyone here help rescue an ailing NFL franchise?

Did you help bring an entire city back from the brink of destruction?

Did you put a team on your shoulders in the midst of a league lockout when no one else could?

And does anyone here (combined for that matter) make as much money for their boss or company or local community than Drew Brees does?

Then stop the whining.

Why is it easy for you to justify him being paid "a few million dollars less" but if the tables were turned, would take our boss to task over $1,000 per year...

Drew Brees is the biggest thing in New Orleans next to the Mighty Mississippi. And in the NFL, you're paid for what you did more often than what you will do.

Pay him.
pinch likes this.

We aren't whining about him not getting the money. Tom benson and Mickey Loomis is in charge of that. And no Saintsfan, we haven't forgotten what he has done for the Saints, New Orleans, and the State of Louisiana. But I think HE HAS forgotten what the Saints have done for him. 5 years ago, nobody wanted his broken down ass. Luckily Sean Payton saw something in him that nobody else saw. Greatness. Now the problem we, or I, have in him is we just don't understand what in the hell is making this guy so frikkin hard headed. Two years ago, we were erecting 20' tall statues of him in front of the Superdome. Now we're burning him at the stake. What do you expect us to do? He's standing on top of the Superdome pissing on all of us fans, all of his team mates, and all of the Saints management. Me, I'm getting pretty frikkin tired of it all. I'm almost to the point of saying screw Drew Brees. Take your hard head, your POS agent, and your $20,000,000 and get the **** out of New Orleans.

Anyone want to trade away an Ivory jersey for a Brees jersey? Size 52.

I'm done cheering on Drew Brees, although I hope he makes us proud this year.

Funny you say that Alaska. I was taking my shower a while ago, and for some reason my Brees jersey came to mind. I was thinking about it, and would I wear it this season. After a few minutes, I came to the conclusion that I think I've bought my last NFL jersey...ever. That money could very well be spent more wisely.

Thank you Roger Goodell and you bastards at the NFLPA.

Can you tell I'm pretty much fed up with this bull****?
I know, It'll be better in a few weeks, but damn...its hard right now.

Drew himself has said he won't hold-out, and at this point in time I'll believe Drew over anything from ESPN.

Until I hear it from Drew. I don't believe a thing the MEDIA is putting out.

I understand your frustration. I feel it too...

Don't forget this is a business. And that's how Loomis has always viewed it. And Condon is known for being the thorn in the side of any GM in contract talks with him.

And don't think for one second DB has forgotten what it feels like to get thrown out on his butt after being injured while playing on a one year franchise tag. "Screw me twice, shame on me".

I'm tired of peoples opinions being swayed by the latest Drew vs. the Team blog. We don't know what's really going on, it's mostly speculation based on loose rumor (ala Goodell's "case").

Even before reading Sgt. Hulkas comments I was thinking to myself that if Drew doesn't sign by the deadline I'm not wearing a #9 jersey.....ever!
I love the player.......but, I'm starting to question my loyalty to the man.

Your Not the only one questioning your loyalty to brees, I lost a lot of respect for him this offseason, I never in a million years thought brees would cause a fall out about a contract

He said he wants a team friendly deal....again.... A TEAM FRIENDLY DEAL

But we lost Carl nicks and meachem when he proved that wasn't the case

At this point, I really want him to sign but if he doesn't I'm fully prepared for us to suck for the next couple of seasons, if he asks for a trade so be it

He deserves the money but he isn't showing any remorse knowing that the more he asks for the further he hurts the team, not being at camp is hurting the team anyway
