Grade the Saints position groups
OK, this is different than a power ranking, honest!
What grade would you give our position groups... QB - A plus (obviously) RB - A-minus. A very good top to bottom, our worst would start on a lot of teams. FB - B-plus. Pretty good combo of pass pro and skull crusher, and both play special teams well WR - B-Plus. We have some question marks near the bottom of this group, but even without Meachem its a very good group O-Line - A. One of the best in the league. Our tackles worry me a little, but there're a good cohesive unit. TE - A-minus. We have a superstar in Graham and if he stays healthy a great do-it-all type in Dave Thomas. Could use a bit more depth DT - B-minus. We did great getting Bunkley, but there are still questions about Ellis. Is Spags the answer? Good looking prospect in Hicks and a good rotation guy in Ayodele, but an injury to Bunkley may expose this unit as sub-par. DE - C plus. If Smith was available for all 16 I'd give this group a B minus. Lots of young potential and McBride is about NFL average. Probably our most worrysome group. LB's - B-minus We threw a bunch of players at the problem, will they gel? Lofton was a steal, and we may have actually signed enough OLB talent to supplant Shanle. I do like the fact that our guys can play inside or out. CB - B-Plus. I'd give this group an A-minus if I was positive that Johnny Patrick will develop as expected and camp reports are correct that he looks great. NB is really the only concern here. S- B-Plus. Its a double edged sword. I think if Spags does play a lot more zone by his safeties, its gonna be great for Jenkins, but not so much for Harper. I'm hoping for a solid mix of schemes. K - B. I have faith in Grandpa Kasey, but that leg's gotta be getting old. I don't have faith in Hartley, at all. P - A-plus, but its the punter. |

I think your grades are pretty solid. I would have to say though that if we have
then this grade should be at worse a B plus - A. |

I'm givin' a whole bunch of Incompletes until I actually see some football this year. There real unknowns to me circle around the coaching changes. I think that'll be the most important factor in the performance of all of these position groups.
