Jonathan Vilma on New Orleans Saints' suspended list
Suspended New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma continues to battle the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell in the court room. In the meantime, the Saints are moving forward without his services. (Not that they have a choice.)
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Vilma was placed on the reserve/suspended list by the Saints, a source with knowledge of the move said. This is nothing more than a procedural move by the organization. It opens up a roster spot for the Saints to use elsewhere. The team would surely love to somehow have Vilma available, but Goodell has spoken clearly on this matter. Vilma's appeal was rejected. There's not much left for the Saints to do other than move forward with Curtis Lofton in the middle of their defense at linebacker. Jonathan Vilma on New Orleans Saints' suspended list - NFL.com |
