Pressing Questions For All 32 Teams Entering Training Camp
New Orleans Saints: The 2011 Saints had the worst tackling secondary in the NFL, finishing 32nd in yards allowed after catch. Have they improved secondary play? Can Patrick Robinson be the starting right cornerback (opposite Jabari Greer)? Can Johnny Patrick assume the nickel role? They allowed 24 touchdown passes, with only nine picks. Can this Saints secondary cover?

At least Lombardi went out the box on this one. I thought for sure he was going to say the easy answer with our coaching woes.

When you play an aggressive blitz heavy defense the downside is you give up a lot of big yardage plays.
That stat is skewed a bit because of that, but we also sucked at tackling. |

It really is difficult to compare last years defense to this years... Different coach, different scheme, different key players...

Greer can cover; Robinson showed development; Patrick should show us this year what he's about; the Safeties, let's hope Spagnuolo can turn them around - though I'm skeptical...
The linebacker talent should be much better; that should help... But coverage is only as good as the pass rush aiding it and that is the most pressing question... |

I'm surprised we're not bringing in at least 4-5 more corners. If Payton was running the show he'd have a half dozen corners trying out for the team. You can never have enough quality corners.
With Payton being offensively minded it's kind of funny how much he loves his corners. From the get go he was bringing in and drafting corners early. |
