The main reason I decided to post this, however, has nothing to do with predictions. It gives me an opportunity to brag on the Rebels...and those opportunities are rare.
That year that Ole Miss beat Florida...it was the Gators only loss. Consequently, Ole Miss ended-up being the only team to defeat the national champs...and it wasn't the first time this happened. I believe the year was 1977 and Notre Dame was playing Ole Miss in Jackson. I was lucky enough to have been there. Ole Miss spanked them that hot Saturday afternoon, and yes, the Irish went on to win the rest of their games and the national championship that year.
So...Ole Miss has done it twice. One thing in particular that I remember about that afternoon in 1977 was that there was an Irish fan, an older gentleman, sitting in front of us in the endzone seats we had. He repeatedly moaned, "Egad, Notre Dame...do something!" I thought that was funny because to this day he is the only person that I have actually heard say "Egad!"
... I was intentionally trying to ignore the Tim Tebow prediction, but since you put an Ole' Miss spin on it ... "duly noted", .
