Whaaaatever! Few weeks ago I heard Sapp predicting the Bownies winning the Superbowl!! C'mon, gimmie a break!!!!!
Somewhere over the rainbow! |
|
Thats as absurd as someone saying the Saints would win it in 2009. Oh, wait...
|
In the age of parity in the NFL, who knows who will win year to year.
I do think Carolina has a better chance than the Browns. I also think the Browns would lose 2 or 3 games if they competed in the SEC..... |
Cough......cough.......
|
I do think they will be our main competition to win the South. I expect it to go down to the wire like it always does.
|
I think that Ryan Kalil needs to GBAFSE imo.
|
I can't hate the guy for trying to get the fans excited about their team. Of course his promise isn't gonna happen but there's nothing wrong with getting the people hyped.
|
Fine. I sure don't want any networks, writers, predicting for the Saints. That kind of thing is kiss o' death.
First game has not been played. We are not even mid season. No one can make any predictions right now. Still, ok, go on Carolina, LOL!!! Predictions like this are a bad omen. I just want our Saints to ..... you know.....as they have been doing these fpast ew years....under the weekly radar. Just win. Less coverage when they win, fine with me. Let there be the hour long talk about Teeeee-Bowwwwwww. Peyton Manning. Dallas cowboys. You know, the usuallly game recap and weekly spotlight stuff and talk. |
Mindless dribble.

How about predicting that predictions never work? ;-) |
+5 for fandom, -5 for grounded in reality
There went 5 minutes of my life I will never get back |
Fantastic ... that really means they won't win it!
|
as long as newton gets away with his running, he will be a tick on our ass. but one day somebody's gonna meet him head on. then there chances or out the window.
|
Hmmm ... when is Kalil's next random drug test?

I think the author meant SoupBowl

3 different schools and the only program Cam finished was a court-approved pre-trial diversion program for theft. Speaking of diversion, his whole QB career is one big diversion from actually playing QB. If they go to the SB it will have less to do with him and more to do with some very, very fortunate set of cirmcumstances.
|
It would take a lot of home cookin' and "make up" calls from the refs against the Saints for the Panthers to win the division. You know they are not gonna let the Saints tackle him behind the line of scrimmage without a hankie flying.

Cam Newton threw Kalil's brains out the window with the laptop ...

People in Carolina who are so high on Cam Newton the "running QB" need to take a look at Payton's lifetime record against Michael Vick. I forget what it is exactly, the number, but it's like, crazy good. 6-1 or 7-1 or something like that. Payton had Vick's number, and seeing as we've always outscored Cam by a 2-1 margin, I think we will be alright a year without Sean.
|
They will win the SB when monkey's fly out my butt!!
|
Its nice to have optimism, but unless Cam can develop a steady presence in the pocket, his running will only get them to an occasional playoff appearance with an early exit, just like every other team in NFL history with a running QB.
|
Cam reminds me a lot of Aaron Brooks.

Just some random thoughts.
First to Khalil: If you don't believe in yourself, then who else will believe in you? In July every player on each of the 32 teams wants to win the SB. At this point, they all have a "equal" chance of doing so. Can't fault the guy for being excited. Newton: I'm not sure it's possible to be labeled a "running QB" and pass for 4000+ yards in this league. He's very different than Vick, especially the old Vick, who would take one read downfield, then run. Hype: While Khalil is excited, he should have kept his mouth shut instead of taking out a full page ad in the local paper. Now's he's set up and expectation in the fans' heads that is unrealistic. Random thoughts... SFIAH |
UM yeah ok right.

The main reason I decided to post this, however, has nothing to do with predictions. It gives me an opportunity to brag on the Rebels...and those opportunities are rare. That year that Ole Miss beat Florida...it was the Gators only loss. Consequently, Ole Miss ended-up being the only team to defeat the national champs...and it wasn't the first time this happened. I believe the year was 1977 and Notre Dame was playing Ole Miss in Jackson. I was lucky enough to have been there. Ole Miss spanked them that hot Saturday afternoon, and yes, the Irish went on to win the rest of their games and the national championship that year. So...Ole Miss has done it twice. One thing in particular that I remember about that afternoon in 1977 was that there was an Irish fan, an older gentleman, sitting in front of us in the endzone seats we had. He repeatedly moaned, "Egad, Notre Dame...do something!" I thought that was funny because to this day he is the only person that I have actually heard say "Egad!" |
