He's ready to mold a new Dome Patrol
John Pease, back as Saints' D-line coach, sees plenty of promise.
Nick Deriso nderiso@thenewsstar.com June 7, 2004 Longtime New Orleans defensive line coach John Pease returned this spring for his first off-season with the Saints in a decade. He's starting to like the new version. "They are very athletic. There's a lot of speed," said Pease, who got his first look at the 2004 line during last month's voluntary coaching sessions. "A couple of guys showed up a little overweight. But once they get their weight down, the speed factor should be very, very impressive." Pease - who coached the Saints line under Jim Mora in the late 1980s and early 1990s - isn't ready to compare this group to his legendary crew during the Dome Patrol era.
