Just PAY THE MAN!!!

And don't forget, Morstead's cap hit just went up a couple million.

Its gonna be tricky enough to resign Graham, Bushrod, Ellis (or any starting DT), Galette, and Devery.

Would like to have him, but don't see how we can afford it. Even if he does restructure we still have guys to take care of who are already here.

I was under the impression that Morstead's new contract was an extension to the current contract, so this year's cap hit will remain the same ($1.95M), but the next 6 years will be at a higher cap hit (an average of $3.65M).

That is why he tweeted that he'd be around for 7 more years.

I was referring to next years cap hits. But regardless, either a 19million hit for 2012, or a long term re-structure will make it too difficult to re-sign the guys I listed.

I'd pass.

I know, and I fully agree with you on that signing Freeney would just be too costly in relation to the benefit he would probably give the Saints' pass rush.

Maybe the Eagles or the Jets will make a trade for him to improve their "dream teams."
