New Orleans Saints make roster moves
Less than 24 hours after the Saints first preseason game - a 17-10 victory over Arizona in the Hall of Fame Game - the club announced some roster moves that included the waiving of backup cornerback/return man Laron Scott. Scott misplayed a punt that led to the Cardinals setting a Hall of Fame Game punt record but he also had an excellent kickoff return.
The Saints also welcome back linebacker Ramon Humber, who was with the team in 2011. Here is the team's press release: New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced on Monday the team has re-signed wide receiver Kevin Hardy and linebacker Ramon Humber. The club has also waived cornerback Laron Scott and waived/injured G Scott Winnewisser. Hardy is a 6-0, 186-pound product of the Citadel who spent this offseason with New Orleans after being signed as an undrafted free agent. The Ocala, Fla. native appeared in 40 games as a wideout and return specialist for the Bulldogs. As a senior in 2011, he caught four passes for 53 yards with one touchdown and rushed for 101 yards on six carries, while ranking sixth in the Southern Conference with an average of 24.4 yards per kickoff return. Humber is a 5-11, 232 product of North Dakota State and three-year NFL veteran who returns to New Orleans. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts in 2009, where he spent his rookie NFL season and part of his second campaign, he’s appeared in 34 career NFL games with six starts and has career totals of 47 tackles (25 solo), one sack, one pass defense, one forced fumble and 29 special teams tackles. After joining the Saints late in the 2010 season, Humber appeared in 13 games with three starts in 2011 and had a career-high 24 tackles (14 solo), one sack, one pass defense and eight special teams tackles, also adding another special teams stop in the postseason. Hardy will wear #86 and Humber will wear #68 link back | |

Scott cut his own throat. He still a couple of moments that another team could find appealing.

Am I the only one that sees "Ramon Humber" so close to "Roman Harper" that they had to read the article three times to cut through the confusion LOL Give Humbler #58...jet Shanle... even if Humbler sticks up the house, no one will know the difference. |
