Geez....saintsfan...nothing personal....but it\'s a shame how someone who seems so intelligent could\'ve been more WRONG. It\'s obvous that Brooks isn\'t and will never been the QB the Saints are paying him to be. Yeah Brooks was kicking *** earlier this year, but you have to do it for the whole year, not just when you feel like it. If his shoulder was fine then I\'ll take him at his word, which actually makes him look even worse.

Sure it\'s easy to come here and say this after the fact, but you set yourself up for failure. AB has no heart and no passion. Laid Back in the huddle translates into No Urgency late in the game.

Darn it I was wrong about Brooks too. I even bought one of his stinkin\' jerseys. I live in NY and I am the sole mouthpiece for the Saints...never again. The only reason he played his heart out in 2000 was because he could see the dollar signs. He has his dollars now so we\'ll just be subjected to his idiotic play until somehow this madness ends.

Did AB stink it up Sunday? Yes he did. Is AB the problem with this team? No he is not. AB had a terrible game, but he had help. The receivers had a terrible game (how many dropped passes?). The offensive line had a terrible game (again). The play calling was horrible (again). The Carolina blitzers had a straight shot at AB blitz after blitz (again). The defense did show up for a change...for the FIRST time this year, and managed to hold Carolina under 20, but it was too little too late. And that wasn\'t exactly the Packers they were playing against.

Indeed Saintz08, time will tell. But time keeps on ticking...into the future, which is still quite bright for the Saints. Not many people gave the Saints much of a chance this year, and they\'d be in the playoffs with ANY kind of a defense. QB\'s have their ups and their downs and AB had plenty of both this year...it amazes me that you AB bashers refuse to see any positives in the man.

Was the loss to Detroit AB\'s fault? How about the loss to the Vikings? How about the loss to the Bengals? Honestly, in spite of AB\'s poor play on Sunday, if Reed hangs on to the freakin\' ball we\'re in baby. If our defense could stop Moss (we all knew where Culpepper was going with that pass) we\'re in baby. If our defense could stop ANYBODY\'S running game (see the Bengals game) we\'re in baby. It\'s really easy to pin the late season slide on Brooks, but then you guys aren\'t willing to look any further. I understand. Everyone wants to be so right...perceive themselves as the one with the answers. Thats fine.

Those of us who are willing to look deeper...who are willing to see that AB, while playing poorly at times, isn\'t the true issue, can see where the true problem lies and that a solid draft defensively and a free agent or two that can actually play defense is what this team really needs.

I, for one, commend AB on his comments after the game. He doesn\'t play for those fools who gave up and started yelling for Jake. He\'s plays for Mr. Benson, and for those of us who realize that football is a team sport...that no one man wins or looses a game.

AB will be the starter again next year. Bet your 401K on it. You\'ll all be back in here spewing the same \'ol stuff again, and at every oppurtunity you\'ll be screamin for Brooks\' head because you\'re all very typical fans. Thats ok too. It takes all kinds to make a world. But remember this...as AB continues to grow, as his receivers learn him and he learns them, as Deuce continues to play like a wild man, and after the Front Office gets us a respectable defense, the Saints will be on top of the world. I\'ll be there smilin\'. Where will you all be?

C'mon Man...

Saintfan that\'s crazy! You\'re right about one thing, Brooks will start next year. And this team may make the playoffs with some help from its defense. But I will bet you my 401K that this team will NEVER win a Super Bowl with Brooks at the helm. Never.

Leadership and intelligence are the two most important thing in a quarterback. Ability and potential rank well below them. Brooks doesn\'t have any of the attributes that are truly important - only the ones that give him great POTENTIAL, but little SUBSTANCE.

I would not bank on that Brooks starter thing .

The dance has been danced and now it is judging time , 2 judges get to hold their cards up , Loomis and Benson . Benson is going to want answers and Loomis is going to get them . 2 years in a row , 3 fat contracts and someone is going to pay the piper .

Fielkow is trying to crunch the numbers , the state is scratching its head and Benson is thinking I paid all this money for what ??? Not to mention that every sports writer has done his laughing analysis of the New Orleans Saints , including those that compare Brooks field vision to that of Mr. Magoo .

The latest in a post meltdown drama include Benson looking to sell the Saints after paying all those large signing bonuses and getting nothing to show for it , except an 8x10 photograph of Brooks smiling after the loss .

Never know in the NFL , who would have thought Parcels would coach the Plowboys with Jerry Jones as the owner . He just signed .........

08 I hope you\'re right, but I just don\'t think Benson is going to move. Haslett is married to Brooks. I really think that if Brooks goes Haslett goes and vice versa. Benson won\'t get rid of both. I hope that I\'m wrong, but I doubt it will happen.

Hello ,

Year 4 and the big Brooks point is \" IF \"

\"Aaron Brooks is one of those guys who runs hot and cold. I think inexperience is his biggest problem; he\'s still learning how to play under high expectations.... If Brooks can be more consistent, the Saints will be as dangerous as any team in the league. They have three speed receivers -- Joe Horn, Donte\' Stallworth and Jerome Pathon -- who will scare anybody. Plus they\'ve got Deuce McAllister in the backfield, and he can beat you with speed and power.... I think they\'ll miss Kyle Turley at left tackle, but they still have some talent on their line. LeCharles Bentley is a horse inside.... They\'ve really added some speed to their defense. They saw Tampa Bay winning with a fast defense, and now they\'re trying to do the same.... Johnathan Sullivan has a lot of potential. He\'s quick for a big guy, and he\'s solid against the run.... I really like Darren Howard. He\'s big, strong, fast and when he comes to play, he\'s a complete defensive end.... Even though Ashley Ambrose is on the downside of his career, he wasn\'t a bad signing. They\'ll have a decent tandem if Dale Carter has his head on straight, because Carter is as talented as any corner in the league.\"
