Cool, sounds as if both our defenses are coming along nicely.

I'd be afraid of Thomas as well... He's lit you up in the not so distant past as well

Not even worried after your best run stopper left?

You might wanna look that up. The Giants, Redskins and Jets went from just above average to average over the time Nolan was there. The only really good defense Nolan ever coached was with the Ravens and that was just after Ed Reed joined the team.

Does Atlanta have a combo like Ed Reed and Ray Lewis?

So why do you think the left him in the game for 95% of defensive snaps for over 4 years?

One or maybe both of your LBs when your in nickel is going to be busy with Graham and David Thomas/Michael Higgins our TE's... That's when the middle is wide open

Because Brian Van-Gorder is a jack azz.

I don't know; Lofton has been pretty solid against the pass in both our games. Maybe the Falcons weren't using him right...

That maybe right but he also slimmed down, wish he would have did that while he was here.

But didn't you just post that run defense was the strength of the falcon team? Wouldn't that be VanGorder's doing?

Yes but in a passing league what good does it do you to have a great run D but a garbage pass D, and than he wasnt creative enough to draw up any blitz packages that would work.

We got cut up by QBs like TJ Yates, Jake Locker and Travaris Jackson etc.

Re: Atlanta game

Too much hooplah about nothing.

I did watch some of the Atl-Bal game as I had the NFLN live look-in on the PiP. Yep, Jones a bunch of yards. The couple of high arches Matt Ryan threw really deep (that's about 30-40 yds at most for him), I kept wondering where's Ed Reed to intercept that crap? Oh, yeah, on the bench.

The Falcons also got out firing, throwing the ball, no huddle, the works. Why? Because they had to. The last memory of the Falcons O is, well, an O, as in zero points scored in a playoff game in a 3-and-out fest in NY, and there are plenty of season tickets still not sold. So they have to come out and show something in front of the home crowd, and obviously they have to feature the guy who they spent 2-3 picks for. There is no way they were going to come out and have the starters just run the ball a couple of drives and be contempt with no injuries.

The Ravens, on the other hand, started the passing the ball more than running it, which is not characteristic of the Ravens.

It is a completely different situation when we looked at the Saints O in the HOF game, when we saw the Saints offense and we recognized an old friend.

And it is not like Clowns torched the Ravens every time... yes, that first drive was a TD, then followed by a 3-and-out, then followed by an interception in the Red Zone after a good punt return to Baltimore's 15.

And Mike Nolan is gonna prevent you from getting cut up by Brees? Drew has lit Mike Nolans defenses up since '06...

Drew is elite he's going to light up everyones defense but atleast this time around it will be far more complicated and we definetly wont be getting lit up by those scrub QBs that I named in my last post.

Hope springs eternal, right? And you get Stafford this year! He only threw for a gazillion yards last year. And you have to face Suh! Good luck with that! Let us not forget RG3 who will be surprising a few folks this year. As far as good to great QB's... let's see... both Mannings, Brees, and Cam ain't no slouch either. Hopefully, you'll be a much more satisfied customer than this little fellah.

Atlanta Falcons Fan is Angry and Goes Off !!! (Because they lost against the Giants) - YouTube

We beat Matt Stafford and Cam!! No one fears Peyton Manning(isnt the old Peyton) and Eli is beat able! Its not like we have a garbage O, we are fully capable of putting points up.

And whats up with this youtube vid us Falcon fans have saw it well all felt the same way so whats the point of posting it?

You may have beat Stafford and Cam, but that doesn't mean you're locked in to beating them again this year...

I wouldn't sleep on Peyton, what he lacks their defense will pick up the slack

And yes Eli is beatable, just not in the playoffs for you... lol

Any given Sunday; every game plays out different... can't sleep on any team

Sure dont, Im a realest so I would have told you last year with our BS playcalling, garbage O-line and vanilla defense that we wouldnt bust a grape with a sledge hammer. I said we would end up 9-7 miss the playoffs and it would be New Orleans and Tampa in the playoffs so losing didnt bother me. With how were set up now im confident in saying we will be far more successful this year!

Serious question; how did you improve in the offseason? Beside maybe a new defensive scheme, how did you get better?

We replaced our old vanilla Offensive Coordinator with Dirk Keotter. We switched up our scheme so JacQuizz Rodgers would get almost as many carries as Turner and we developed a better screen and vertical game. Matt Ryan also gained 15 pounds OF MUSCLE so he can throw deep balls better. I wish you guys could have saw that game. Matt Ryan's deep balls were so much more accurate and he could make better throws. He was also being much more mobile in the pocket and made big plays out of absolutely nothing.

The reason why the Falcons will not win anything is because they copy the Saints. We get a franchise QB, your team attempts to get a franchise qB, we get an upper tier catching TE (Shocky) your team gets Gonzo.Your team tries to be us, you try to turn a run first team into a pass first team. The only problem is you havn't the talent at QB or the HC to pull it off.

What weapons did he have to work with? none but he damn sure is utilizing all the ones he has now unlike Mike Mularkey, our O is by far better than it was last year already.

And you can tell this by one quarter of the first preseason game? From what I understand he began to open up the playbook.

MJD and their O-Line was better than what the Falcons have... and MJD is sure a hell a lot better than Turner or the other one

Yes sir you surely can, If Mularkey was still here we would have ran on 1st and 2nd down for maybe 3 yards if we got anything at all. Than on 3rd down we would throw a 5 yard slant or some bs route that wouldnt net enough yards to get the 1st down. With Dirk we attacked right of the gate with a screen and more vertical routes than we have ever seen before. The conservative Atlanta Falcons are history and thats exactly what we needed because we have the personnel to play aggressive football.

Wasn't it just the season before last that the falcons were 13-3 and the number 1 seed in the NFC? That was with Mike Mulrarky and Brian Vangorder right? But these new guys are better?
