Uhhh... the Rams ranked in the top half of the league in sacks the past two years. Also, you don't think Spags had any part with developing those elite pass rushers in New York? They are also still running the same system.

So im talkin about the fan base as a whole.

Mike Nolans D with 8 rookies was ranked 10 last season.

What does this mean? I would expect you guys to be happy that you got a good DC but the statement was you didnt get the one you wanted.

Re: Atlanta game

Are you telling us that ALL falcon fans wanted Nolan? That's pretty amazing... (in a Stepford Wives kinda way)

So you pick a thread out of a different forum and you then make a generalization that the Saints fan base as a whole wanted your defensive coordinator? One thread in on a different board doesn't speak for the whole Saints nation.

There's a video in the NFL forums up top with a Atlanta fan showing his support for his city and team. That's like me making a generalization that all Atlanta fans are fair weathered.

That's awesome. No one said your defense sucks. So I don't understand what your point is? [/quote]

Our organization got exactly who we wanted. Spags was our front office's target and we got him. As far as the fans are concerned, some got their first choice, some got their second. Some got their third. I know for damn sure I got my first choice. And unless you can poll the entire Saints nation, you're just making a blanket assumption.

Re: Atlanta game

Who cares who got who?

The Falcon fans are obviously happy with a 1 quarter look at their starting defense, let them be happy...

Re: Atlanta game

Exactly. What's the whole point of this conversation anyways?

"Haha! Some Saints fans didn't get their first choice at DC"

You want a cookie?

I imagine for every fan who wanted Nolan, their was 10 who wanted Spags.

Thanks for the discussion SaintKiller. It's always good to see things from a different perspective.

I never cared which one we got. I just wanted whoever we got to be good.

Re: Atlanta game

Find a post where I said I wanted Nolan over Spags. I'll be waiting. Then we'll talk. Until that time, Mike Nolan is still Mike Nolan and you Falcons fans sound like somebody who is putting way too much hope into a first preseason game, because they're nervous about the year. Jimmy Graham has not even touched the football yet.

One of my employees is a Falcons fan. He said he would not take Brees even if they traded their backup QB for him. He said he wouldn't even want Brees as a back up.

He's not a fan, he's just a hater.

I wouldn't want him as a back up either-
way too expensive and would challenge the already fragile psyche of Matty Ice. Plus I don't think he has any experience as a holder.

Ranked 10 in what? According to NFL.com, the 2011 Miami Dolphins defense was ranked 15 in total defense.

And 8 rookies on D? Jimmy Wilson was the only rookie active on the defense, all other rookies were playing offense.

Because you have to win a playoff game to get one

Ryan tends to key in on receivers and throw to the same guy over and over.....thats why Jones had a big night. Seem like they were running the same play over and over

Which most likely it was.

I dont know what Koetter does as for being a OC though. It will be interesting, but I said it earlier, Ryan targets 1 guy alot, thats why JJ came away with the stats he did last season.

Those all were designed plays to Julio. None of them were the same, though. Matt Ryan also threw a couple times to Roddy during that drive. He threw an on-target deep ball and a drive-saving ball to him.
