More Support for the Saints

While Jonathan Vilma’s immediate future is being dealt with in the courtroom, a former New Orleans Saints secondary coach says there was no “bounty” system with the team.
Dennis Allen is now the Raiders’ head coach, and he said on Jim Rome’s show, “We obviously had an incentive program. It’s unfortunate the things that have gone down there. I’ve got a lot of great friends there. I really respect those players, those coaches, and that’s some of the best memories I’ve got in the National Football League.”

I'm still surprised that the opposition hasn't raided all of our coaches.

So am I, but glad they haven't. Although I sure was sad to see our receivers coach go to Tulane, but I knew a couple years ago he was in line for bigger and better things.

You only leave a place when it's to your benefit or when you're asked to. Keep'em happy Benson!

Of course there wasn't a bounty program. Incentive? Yes! Obviously this was not investigated objectively. The Saints will win this battle with Goodell.

At this point it more a battle for power and fairness. The Saints may not win the WAR as far as an "incentive based pay" program, but there are many battles they may/should win.

This is now a battle that could change how things are done in the NFL. It effects much more than just the Saints organization - everyone involves recognizes this one point.

Power will ultimately be the reason why both sides will continue to fight, but there is one thing Vilma brings to the table no other party has interest in - Reputation.

Neither side wants to give up power - real or perceived.

The wild card in this situation is Vilma.

Wrong again.

the NFL is trying to look like good guys at the expense of our team.

They screwed with the wrong franchise.

I think most people misunderstand this part.
Why when I worked for a former employer, did I participate in incentive plans year round?

Because although the job was sweet, although the pay was great, it was a JOB and incentives lifted quota's company wide. Those who did NOT participate were always slightly behind.

It was like a game within a game. The prizes? Trips, flights, PC's, paid days off.
During Christmas, if you won the quota contest in your district, the prizes were substantial, as in a check for $3,000.

People would move fast, competition was tight but friendly among employees.
