ESPN Trolling their own message boards?
First off, the reason all of us is here is because ESPN Boards blow goats.
With that out of the way. Does anyone believe The mods of those boards are responsible for all the garbage we see like the trolling? Say the Saints board for example is pretty much 75% trolling, 25% fan talk which then gets trolled. Reason I ask this because I firmly believe ESPN (Eastern Sports and Propaganda Network) hates the Saints and is always looking for something to blow up in the media about them as it relates to something bad usually (Wire tapping probe anyone?) and they all are ready to say guilty without trial or reason anyway or just make stuff up. Saints board has been pretty bad last few months, but many other boards get it to, but its kind of interesting some of the stuff that occurs all around on those boards, especially polls, some polls have been found to where if you vote No, it will register as Yes. If you vote Yes, it registers as No. I saw this about 2 months ago and its still like that on some polls, only logical way I see this being done is if someone with some type of moderation power is rigging it like this. It gets better though, some topics, especially ones from trolls where they put out some garbage that needs to be addressed or someone who needs to be put in their place, is posted where their is no visible replies on it no matter how many times people reply to that topic, it never shows up but will get bumped to the top and the amount of replies that was made to it that aint showing up is being counted. I found that interesting because its always the Trolls making those topics, plenty times has a trolled Saints topic been started that has come to be like this. What we do know about the Moderators, Administrators, any staff of the ESPN boards is, no one has ever seen them post that notes they are a Mod or staff member, we know staff exist because who the heck deletes flagged post? One member named Geauxsaints, I dunno if hes registered on this board or not, I dont even know what he is saying but he bought this up on those boards to, maybe someone can make sense of it? New Orleans Saints Community Forum - ESPN Thoughts? Hope this ends up in the twitter feed to the side of the ESPN tweet page. Let them all see it. |

As far as for the counters.... That's fishy, probably to gain or maintain "big board" status.. It is essentially post count boosting. |

I do know for a fact their is rigged polls on there. But its not all polls, usually what I call Troll polls are like this.
My analysis on ESPN boards has been the Trolls seem to have some odd power of some sort to make things happen to the boards. Perhaps the stuff linked to deadspin.com holds some water. |

Look, hate to burst the bubble, but ESPN is the owner of their forums/boards and if they want to rig their polls they have every right to.
Here at this website, we're just wayyyyyy too lazy to rig our polls etc. It does happen on other sites, as well as all kinds of inflation. I recommend you stay here and stop using their Nazi non-sense, crap boards. |

I've seen it on a few boards I've previously registered on, where they're basically inhabited by a small group of individuals that wait for new members to post so they can bait/flame/bash and otherwise hijack the threads as a form of entertainment and if the mods/admins are not in on it, they certainly don't have the nutsacks to put an end to it, nor do they possess the necessary leadership qualities or skills to influence or direct the culture of their boards towards something that would actually attract and retain a larger, more active membership. The truly sad thing is, these boards really misrepresent their teams & fan-base and could do much better for their organizations if they would take a page from the B&G playbook ... it's always suspect to me when I log onto a board where the Admins and Mods aren't visible and/or won't identify themselves, those are the boards I find with the most nonsense going on ... go figure, eh? |

Re: ESPN Trolling their own message boards?
Well, I don't really give a flying frick in a suit of ostrich feathers and pearls while zooming around in the air on Circ D' Soleil cables, about what happens in the ESPN forums.
But think about this for a minute -- I do believe, that some people in Who Dat nation, especially in the wake of Bountygate, are seriously under-estimating how much hate there is for the Saints and for the city of New Orleans, that is out there in the real world. Some people seem to have this idea that the city and its team is universally loved all over the world, that people "get" New Orleans, that the world out there understands the city, and everyone out there universally loves us, the food, the music, the culture, the people, the team, the state. And that's just not true. We saw that after Katrina -- for all the love and concern we got from good people, there were also people saying "let them sink into the swamp" and "they shouldn't rebuild it" and "I will pop some popcorn and watch you all drown on TV" and so on. Really nasty stuff. That type of thought is definitely there in this country, and frankly those people DON'T LIKE US. One bit. It's not going to go away. So if it sees like you're getting trolled or flamed or beat up out there, you probably are. Probably more for what the city or region represents, and not for anything having to do with you personally. |
