How has the offense progressed over the first two games? What would you like to work on and accomplish? “We’re obviously playing a little more on Friday. We just want to go out and put a couple drives together. Get some continuity going. And that’s what we’re looking for at this point in the preseason.” Without Robert Meachem on the team, do you think you’re going to see more double coverage? “I don’t really think that that’ll be the case with the weapons we have on this offense. You could double anyone. Obviously with Sproles coming out of the backfield and Jimmy at tight end and the receivers, it’s hard to pay too much attention to one guy. I probably will see similar coverage’s that I have for the past three years.” Is it realistic to average 41 points at home again this year? Or was that a once in a career type of year? “We definitely hope it’s realistic. We’re just planning on taking days like today and getting better and progressing. When that time comes, we hope it happens. “ Can you talk about your thoughts on Andy Tanner and the progress he’s made this preseason? “Tanner is a guy that comes to work day in and day out and obviously he you see the plays that he makes. Very, very good receiver, we obviously have a lot of depth at that position. He’s coming out and he’s handling his business day in and day out and, (I) just have a lot of respect for a guy like that.” Continue reading |

On the field or not, Toon has a spot locked up for at least a couple of seasons.

Roby is likely going to get the 4th receiver position and Toon looks to get the 5th spot. I wonder if we carry six receivers? AA might be nothing more than a memory at this point.
