SAINTS TEAM UP WITH BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA IN CHARITABLE TICK
June 30, 2004
New Orleans Saints The New Orleans Saints and the Boy Scouts of America have teamed up to launch a new program in which the Boy Scouts will raise funds by selling tickets to the Saints 2004 preseason games. As part of this program, tickets sold by the Boy Scouts will be discounted from $65 to $25, with $10 per ticket sold coming back to the Boy Scouts of America in the form of a charitable donation. The Saints have employed the services of Boy Scouts during home games for several seasons, and a number of Saints players and staff members have had involvement in scouting at various levels - including the organization's local Board of Directors. With that in mind, Executive Vice President of Administration Arnold D. Fielkow said the Boy Scouts of America represented a perfect partner in this charitable ticketing program. "The Saints have a long-standing partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, and we are eager to take our relationship a step further with this new program," Fielkow said. "This is a win-win program for all concerned, and we look forward to welcoming youngsters from throughout the region to our games later this summer." Boy Scouts of America Units in the following communities will participate in this program: New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles in Louisiana; Hattiesburg and Meridian in Mississippi; as well as Mobile in Alabama. As part of the program, Scouts can earn a commemorative patch for their sales efforts during the Saints preseason games on Aug. 13 vs. the New York Jets, and Sept. 3 vs. the Miami Dolphins. Each Scout will be given a form to help them track their sales as well as a flier detailing the program. Scout incentives are as follows: * The Scout that sells the most tickets will be invited to spend the day with the Saints (includes special invitation to attend practice and the opportunity to have lunch with the team). * For each Unit that sells 100 tickets, the Unit Leader and five scouts of their choice will be invited to attend Training Camp as VIPs. * For each Unit that sells 250 tickets, the Unit Leader will be invited to participate in an on-field ceremony recognizing the Boy Scouts of America and the program. * The Scout Unit that sells the most tickets will receive a trophy for their efforts from the New Orleans Saints. Season, single-game and group tickets for all 10 home games in the 2004 season are on sale now at the Saints Ticket Office in Metairie (504-731-1700 or toll free 877-666-1700), the Superdome ticket office, through Ticketmaster (800-877-0898), through the Saints web site at www.NewOrleansSaints.com and the Ticketmaster web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Also, fans across the Gulf South can purchase tickets locally by calling the Saints offices in Baton Rouge (225-927-8626), Biloxi (228-863-9555), Mobile (251-479-2327) and Jackson (601-362-2294).
