By MELINDA DESLATTE
The Associated Press 7/1/2004, 4:38 p.m. CT BATON ROUGE, La. (AP)  A $7.5 million payment to the New Orleans Saints was wired to the Superdome commission's bank account Thursday, using a loan from a state economic development fund to fill in the shortfall in Louisiana's annual contract obligation to the NFL team. The treasurer's office confirmed the wire transfer. Tim Coulon, head of the Louisiana Stadium & Exposition District which oversees the operation of the Superdome, said a check would be delivered to the Saints on Friday for the total payment due the team, including the loan dollars. http://www.nola.com/newsflash/louisi...0792268980.xml |
