I predict a horrible BLOWOUT Friday night...
Too many factors are tilted towards the Saints:
1. First home game this preseason (dome will be LOUD)! 2. Spagnuola's defense will be swarming the ball, busting the O-line, and getting after the QB. I see about 3+ intentional grounding calls vs. Jags, and 5+ actual sacks in the game. 3. Secondary will get 2+ picks in the first half. 4. Jags running game will get <50 yds. rushing in the 1st half; it's possible they may finish the half with NEGATIVE rushing yards. 5. 45-9 in a laugher. I'm not bragging, boasting or anything of the sort. The Jags are a demoralized team, and they may not be able to deal with the atmosphere in the Dome. And the Black & Gold will fired-up beyond measure. The only downsize to this is that the Saints seem to have a big letdown after a blowout. We'll see... |

Re: I predict a horrible BLOWOUT Friday night...
I think we still keep it rather vanilla as we evaluate the bubble players so I don't think we'll see huge numbers.
I'm hoping we see players on the bubble (Cadet, Morgan, Tanner) get to show their stuff against Jax's starters. If I had to predict anything, I'd predict that Jax keeps it close or even wins the game. They need a boost and we're still in the evaluation/development stages for this season. I also think we'll hear all the Debbie Downers panic if we don't dominate this team every quarter of this game. One or two breakaway runs = our defense still sucks! One or two deep completions = our DB's can't cover! One or two missed tackles = we still can't tackle! |

Depends on how long the Saints starters play?
If they play at least a full quarter, I could see them putting up 21-28 points; if they play until halftime, add another 10-17 points to that. As Halo posted, I don't want any injuries! |

The backups will mix it up with the regular starters throughout the game I would imagine.

I'd like to see our back-ups and bubble players have a decent game against a dejected Jags team.
I think our 2s, 3s, and 4s could probably hang with their starters |

Re: I predict a horrible BLOWOUT Friday night...
Overall, I think the DEPTH of our defensive line will be the key. By the second half, those guys will have their ears pinned back (even our 3's & 4's), and the Jags' QB will remain on the run.
It could get U-G-L-Y!!!!! |

If I had to predict anything, I'd predict that Jax keeps it close or even wins this game. They need a boost and we're still in the evaluation/development stages for this season. Our coaches probably don't care at all about this final score.
I also think we'll hear all the Debbie Downers panic if we don't dominate this team every quarter of this game. One or two breakaway runs = our defense still sucks! One or two deep completions = our DB's can't cover! One or two missed tackles = we still can't tackle! |

I think they will just stick to practicing the fundamentals and running a new scheme. If we are up early by 10 they will start fading the starters out. I wonder how long they will keep the starters in.

Re: I predict a horrible BLOWOUT Friday night...
Keep in mind, Jags have a pretty solid defense. Posluszny is sick nasty. No offense to speak of (looks at Blaine Gabbert) but solid defense. Plus they're like the Browns, they'll bust their ass in the preseason just to make the full season collapse that much more horrible for their fans. Also, Jags feel they have something to prove, Saints, not so much until 9/9. Could be a major difference.
