this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I know I'm waaaay ahead of myself but what if Vitt leads to a NFC championship game or a Super Bowl? I seriously doubt he would be back on the saints staff with such an accomplishment...

He's said he has no desire to be a head coach, I don't see him leaving even if given the opportunity

Re: Winning the Super Bowl could be bittersweet...
Joe Vitt has been an NFL lifer coaching in the league for 35 some-odd years-- when he started coaching John Madden was still on the sidelines, Earl Campbell was the league MVP, "astroturf" was basically green fuzzy concrete, and a lot of dudes were still wearing one-bar facemasks, fer cryin' out loud. If Joe Vitt wins a freaking Super Bowl for us and wants to go be head coach of another NFL Team next year, then God Bless him and more power to him! Thank you for the Lombardi and the memories, sir, best wishes, what an amazing ride! You've proven you deserve to be a head coach in the NFL, sir!
That is what I would say to him, and Payton's coming back! |

Re: Winning the Super Bowl could be bittersweet...
That is a Vitt Carmichael problem they need to contend with....
Leave the Saints to be a head Coach for a second rate team, or stay with the best team in the league and ride the boat to glory. again....and again.... and again. I do not see any exodus until Brees retires. |
