Merriman moved to DE to revive his career and it didn't work, so I'd pass |

I think Merriman is plagued with injuries and I can tell you from experience, if you injure your Achilles, you never forget it the rest of your life. Knowing our front office, Ruud was probably the best talent for the right price on the market. |

Probably could have been because the Bucs Dline was garbage. You dont really get the whole story when it comes to looking at tackles.

Yeah, I don't see us offering anything higher than a 6th or 7th round draft pick. He is coming off surgery and is value seems relatively low but he could pull a Sharper and revive his career.

Larry Holder@Larry_Holder
#Saints GM Mickey Loomis said LB Barrett Ruud has passed his physical today. So Ruud should be full go for Wednesday's practice. |

Re: Saints acquire LB Barrett Rudd from Seahawks for an Undisclosed Pick
He was the odd man out in Seattle; it looks like he was an insurance policy in case the guy they moved down to draft didn't cut it
I think it's a good pick up and that he'll see significant time on 9/10, and might even start |

I doubt this is considered a long term solution, but probably plugs a hole for now and maybe a backup who provides some ST help
