also, check out DBA on frenchmen...one of the best places to grab a beer and some music in the city IMO. and if you wanna splurge for an amazing meal, go to upperline (on upperline st uptown) - my favorite restaurant in the world.
Upperline is hands down one of the best restaurants in the city. I actually did a radio show with Dianne Clevinger the owner last week. You will see her if you go, always in the dining room and she is a riot.

After I've had a dozen raw on the half shell, I like the trio which is two of each; Rockefeller, Bienville and Fonseca. I'm not sure I really know which are which though. They're all delicious! The bar there is a fun place to have lunch.
