Saints RB Mark Ingram doesn’t feel missing practices has put him behind
1 Attachment(s)
METAIRIE, La. – For parts of Mark Ingram’s past three years, injuries have played a significant role in his progress forward.
Entering his second season with the New Orleans Saints, he promises that he doesn’t feel behind despite being on a schedule where he practices one day and rests the next. “Not at all,” Ingram said. “When I’m not practicing, I’m out there getting mental reps, in the film, studying the film. Just because I’m not physically taking the rep doesn’t mean I’m not benefitting from getting mental reps or benefitting from watching Pierre (Thomas) go through the play or (Chris) Ivory or (Travaris) Cadet or whoever.” Continue. This should be done for all veterans returing from surgery.
One day on, next day off. |
Re: Saints RB Mark Ingram doesn’t feel missing practices has put him behind
I'm really pulling for Ingram this season- last year before the draft he was pretty hot ****e but then this year once Richardson was on the scene all we heard about was how much better Trent is than Mr. Ingram.
I wanna see Mark put this hype to bed without dinner |

I wasn't crazy about the Saints drafting Ingram but he wears black and gold on sundays so I'm pulling for him big time. I think he could be our workhorse this year.

Only thing is our offense won us atleast 12 games last season, not to much to ask for the D to step up once in a while |

I wanted to point out the defense wasn't solely to blame. And BTW: The 2011 draft included 5 defensive picks, and 1 offensive pick (Ingram) |
Re: Saints RB Mark Ingram doesn’t feel missing practices has put him behind
Ingram is going to have a big year. I see him winding up with about 1300 rushing yards. I know that is a not a realistic prediction, based on the fact the Saints use a running game by committee strategy, but something tells me Ingram is going to be something special. And yes, even if Ingram gets 1300, I guarantee that both Sproles and Thomas breaks the 500 yard mark.

The score box did not tell the tale about how well we did against SF Defense (minus the fumbles)...
You put up 472 total yards against ANY defense and they are no longer "great". What killed us was 5 turnovers, and Greg Frikken Williams... That 28 yard round the end TD that Smith had... Blitz he says.... get the QB he says... Stack left he says.... Smith goes right.. Unless Vilma made the call on the field? |

Re: Saints RB Mark Ingram doesn’t feel missing practices has put him behind
My thing with Ingram is that some people seem fixated with throwing him under the bus like it's do or die RIGHT NOW....I think we need to give him some time. Pierre Thomas is not gonna last forever, and when Drew is 36,37, 38 years old and Sproles is 34, I want Drew to be able to hand the ball off once in a while to somebody really solid and reliable who can run the ball. And that somebody is most likely going to be a seasoned veteran RB named Mark Ingram, who will hopefully be hitting his peak just as Sproles and Thomas fade. So I kinda see him as runner up for 2016-17 Saints MVP, after Brees.
