METAIRIE, La. – For parts of Mark Ingram’s past three years, injuries have played a significant role in his progress forward.

Entering his second season with the New Orleans Saints, he promises that he doesn’t feel behind despite being on a schedule where he practices one day and rests the next.

“Not at all,” Ingram said. “When I’m not practicing, I’m out there getting mental reps, in the film, studying the film. Just because I’m not physically taking the rep doesn’t mean I’m not benefitting from getting mental reps or benefitting from watching Pierre (Thomas) go through the play or (Chris) Ivory or (Travaris) Cadet or whoever.”

This should be done for all veterans returing from surgery.

One day on, next day off.

I'm really pulling for Ingram this season- last year before the draft he was pretty hot ****e but then this year once Richardson was on the scene all we heard about was how much better Trent is than Mr. Ingram.

I wanna see Mark put this hype to bed without dinner

I wasn't crazy about the Saints drafting Ingram but he wears black and gold on sundays so I'm pulling for him big time. I think he could be our workhorse this year.

If the Saints hadn't have drafted Ingram, the sumbich would have taken this years 1st rd pick away anyway. So, in reality Ingram is a big bonus. Plus, he has all the skills. I have a feeling after this season, you won't be disappointed about his selection.

I don't doubt the skills he has but with the RBs we had on the roster and the ability of the Saints scouts and GM to find young good RBs I hade rather seen the pick spent on a LB or DE.

Our 1st pick was a DE and our 3rd pick was a LB.

And your point is? Offense was not the problem last year.

Ummm I think his point is that you said we should've drafted a DE or LB with our early picks....

...and we did

It was in the San Fran game. Five turnovers is too much to ask of any defense.
