Gash has been on the outs with the coaching staff for several weeks now. I\'d be surprised if he makes the team. As of right now, I think that Karney will be the starter.
How good is the Curran kid? Has anyone seen him play? |

I think he may be a good short-yardage/goal line back for us. It would also relieve Deuce of some heavy pounding.
I\'ve read he can run. He won\'t be just the FB. If he shines in pre-season I could see them cutting Lamar Smith. Deuce Stecker Karney Curran With Lamar and Ki-Jana one phone call away. Anybody heard how Tavian Banks is doing? |

Question- since McCarthy will be mostly running a 2 TE set, will he send one in motion to block as a fullback for Deuce??

I\'ve seen Curran play for the VooDoo. To me, he gives a 200% effort in every play. Like most AFL running backs, he\'s built like a lineman. He can\'t catch too well, though...
I think the Saints will use a 1 back set this year, but it isn\'t impossible to see Karney starting at FB. He\'s got a mind-boggling work ethic, so even if he doesn\'t start right away, he could earn it really soon. |

When the Saints signed Gash (I believe it was the first off season signing) I laughed. I said \" here we go again\". I would MUCH rather a rookie jump in than sign Gash. Im sure he can play average but geez....

Gash was nothing more than decent insurance if we didn\'t sign/draft a good prospect. Haz even told him that when he signed that they\'d most likely bring someone else in to compete for the job.
Gash probably won\'t make the cut, but we\'ll have him on speed-dial if Karney gets hurt. I think Gash has enough left in the tank to fill in for several games and play well. Kinda like the Lamar Smith / Ki-Jana Carter signings. |

danno...you\'d asked about tavian banks earlier. I happened to talk to him after the minicamp recently and he said it went really well. That was good news (if you\'re a fan of his) because he\'s always been pretty reserved. The fun thing about that kid is that he\'s a \"slasher\" style back and almost every time he touches the ball, you think he might have a chance to break it open.
Anyway... |
