Why are you a Saints Fan
I have been taking abuse for years from non-Saints fans about my unnatural love of this team. I now live out of state, in Panthers country, and proudly wear my Saints hats, shirts, sweatshirts ect…
It never fails that people will ask me “Why are you a Saints Fan. (Good question actually )– I became a Saints fan in the late 70’s and early 80’s so it was not because they were winners. I became a Saints fan because they gave the effort each week even though they were likely to lose. Each win was like a playoff victory. Some how I feel like this Saints squad does not have the same heart or desire. And while I still love the Saints I want to see more fire and desire out of this club. Does anyone see hope of a return of emotion to this Saints team or are they too “Professional – Kyle Turley was a nut but he was a warrior and for that alone I miss him. |

Why are you a Saints Fan
I too feel your pain. Even my girlfriend, who knows nothing about football, rags me for loving the Saints. (in response, I decorated my entire home office with Saints memorabillia). She says the Saints just aren\'t \"cool\". Don\'t care. It\'s my team, always has been. They are Louisiana\'s hometown heroes, but half of our population hates them. Tell you average Louisianian you\'re a Saints fan, and watch the reaction you get. :casstet: Who cares?? It\'s a true love affair with me and the organization. You know how when you\'re \"in love\", you can\'t exactly say why??? same thing with Saints fans.................

I may have been too verbose in the beginning of my post – But my question really is do you think we will see more emotion from the Saints this year. I am not sure it would make them a better team but I sure would like to know it kills them to lose.

Maybe not this year, but I think that down the road it cvould happen. The team doesn\'t have many strong and passionate leaders (like a Kyle Turley or Ray Lewis).
The Saints, however, look like they may be looking for someone like that. Just look at our draft class this year. Most all are labeled as passionate for football and have a great work ethic. Rodney Leslie and Courtney Watson were hailed as team leaders at UCLA and Notre Dame. |

I predict John Carney will rise from the ashes to lead this team on an adrenaline laced playoff season with his fiery attitude!!! LMAO

I TOTALLY AGREE! We\'ll come within a game of the playoffs, make an incredible play that will never happen again in the time of humanity, come within a point of tieing the game, but then he\'ll MISS THE FREAKIN\' EXTRA POINT!! Two weeks later, his dead body will be recovered in a dark alley somewhere, murdered by some Saints fanatic.

We love them because they are here and they are permanent underdogs. I guess you could move to Oregon and pull for the Stumpjumpers but hey...they\'re not a team. We are lucky to have an NFL team here and if we don\'t pull for them, then we lose them. Buy tickets, go to the games, have fun and GO SAINTS.

Because I love being an alcoholic during football season. Because I like shaving 10 years off of my lifespan by all the damage my heart is taking. Because I revel in the public humiliation of being a diehard Saint\'s fan. And most of all, I now have my own uncontollable mood swings at least once a month to even the score with my wife!
