Re: Could we trade Pierre to the Lions?
I have often pondered this very same question ... why aren't the Lions talking with the Saints about some of their surplus running talent? The biggest reason I think is that Detroit does not feel they need that potent of a running attack to win games and are content to keep relying on Kevin "can't play two consecutive games without getting hurt" Smith, Jhavid "had my bell rung one too many times" Best, Mikel "been in the league two years & have yet to play a down in a regular season game yet" Leshoure ... their backfield is a total mess once again this season. I would have liked to see them trade DE Cliff Avril for a running back of PT's level, but who am I?
From a Saints perspective, I wouldn't trade PT ... Ivory or Cadet maybe, but not PT. |

No.........next question.

I would trade Ingram before PT. PT is proven and Ingram is not. I would take a second for Ingram and keep PT, Sproles, Ivroy and Cadet.

Re: Could we trade Pierre to the Lions?
Someone else said it in another thread. No reason for Detroit to mess with that. Heck, we're not going to be able to keep them all - at least I think one is going to be gone. I'm sure the Lions will wait until all the cuts have happened.

If they dangle Suh... It would make us think a little... Don't you think?

The Vikes seem have improved their backfield quite a lot based on the preseason games, but, on the other hand, their run defense have left a lot to be desired for, so I do think the Lions should at least try to have some type of an effective run offense if they plan on winning the NFC North. |

Re: Could we trade Pierre to the Lions?
The thing is, both PT and Sproles have skill sets that are near perfect matches for our offensive scheme. Finding that once is hard enough, replacing it is virtually impossible. The coaches and the front office know their value to this team so there is no way they will be traded. And on a side note, I remember hearing this same kind of talk about Deuce which I also vehemetly disagreed with .
