Backup RB ... Eddie George?
I might not be the first, and I won't be the last...
But Eddie George on Waivers is interesting. He feels the need of our Back-up RB position. Has the brains to pick up a playbook fast. Still can run Is tougher than nails, which solves the short yardage problem. Veteran Leadership Baest days are behind him and might not mind "Helping" Deuce and Co. lead this team to the post season. Cheap Can catch the ball, perfect fit in our offense. The only issues, he'll probably want to go to a contender, Saints are one in my mind, But maybe not to players in the league. There is stilll bad reputation out there. I love Deuce, I wear his jersey on game days, I don't doubt he would feel a bit threatened but I know (or at least hope) the threat would quickly be replaced with the mindset that George is a guy who CAN help this team win. He might even have a few antecdotes to pass AB's way. Others who might be interseted: DEN, DAL, TB, HOU, OAK. [Edited on 20/7/2004 by frankeefrank] |

Backup RB ... Eddie George?
If he comes here as a pure back-up and for goal-line carries - alright.
But I doubt that\'s what he has in mind. George thinks he can still start for a couple more years and will look for teams with a weak number 1 RB - like Oakland or Tampa Bay. \"Still can run\" - it may have been the offensive line, but he sure didn\'t look impressive last year. Certainly a lot slower than Deuce. \"Veteran leadership\" - you can expect pretty much the same from him as you can from Deuce: Leading by example, but not by being very vocal. \"Cheap\" - the Titans are rumored to have offered him around 1.5 million for 2004. Not exactly cheap. I think he would be more of a distraction to this team. Plus the chances of the Saints going after him are about ... hmm ... zero. [Edited on 20/7/2004 by no_cloning] |

Backup RB ... Eddie George?
He\'s a bit too old for me. His YPC is shrinking faster than Brooks-basher facts.
I don\'t think he\'d be any better than Lamar Smith, Ki-jana Carter, Antowain Smith, Stacey Mack, or James Stewart. George wants pretty big money from what I\'ve read. |

Backup RB ... Eddie George?
Goes to show that a player can never finish his career where he started. After all he\'s done for the Titans, I feel bad for Eddie the way they\'re shafting him.
