What is the deal about the experts and the Falcons?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I hear the Clowns added Honey Boo Boo to their 53 roster because she's sassy. And she's an intellectual upgrade. We should be scared....

Re: What is the deal about the experts and the Falcons?

I think the Falcons will be much improved this year, as A) anythings better than that offense scheme they've been running... and B) I think Nolan will make their defense improved as well. That being said....I think most analysts are thinking we are going to regress or something... and tbh I don't see how in the hell that is possible. While SP is an important aspect of this team and the offense will probably take a very small step backwards from last year, our defense will be much improved(I mean how could it not). I just don't think the Falcon's roster is as talented as ours... and I really can't see how they are the favorites.

Re: What is the deal about the experts and the Falcons?

People should also not under estimate the influence of the "Rise Up" advertising campaign on the amount of Falcons' media love they get, despite the lack of results or offensive production on the field in the playoffs or when they play against good teams and lose consistently. Basically "Rise Up" was an expensive ad campaign, that implied that the Falcons were actually inferior second place to the Saints, but were somehow "rising up" to take over the first position. Yeah right, but that's advertising for you, selling something fake that doesn't even need to be true.

The so-called experts and media types, they pay attention to this stuff. Ads mean money. If somebody is spending money, on commercials, advertising, and a huge lavish ad campaign, these guys notice it. Let me tell you something about how this works -- he actually does lots of voice overs in advertising and TV, using just his voice, but Samuel Jackson appearing on screen with his face, that ain't cheap, bro. The Falcons spent boucoup money on that "Rise Up" campaign, only to be blown out the playoffs two years in a row. And yet, the typical media hack types, they DO know a good ad campaign when they see one, so they tend to throw the Falcons a bone, give 'em more attention, because so much of the stuff is all owned by the same huge parent companies and conglomerates, etc. The whole "Rise Up" thing was referencing that they were somehow not second fiddle to the Saints who HAD a Super Bowl win-- it all seemed to me like the Falcons were trying to buy a championship, and the media types are STILL trying, but it's just not been working.

I have the same question.

If it is indeed related to that person?

I am proud of the both of us for not knowing.

I haven't heard one expert pick the Saints to win the division.... To much to handle, team will crumble under the tremendous pressure of running day to day activities with out head coach, assistant head coach etc. I live by one statement in this matter......

" To be the man, you gotta beat the man"

The "Nature Boy" Ric Flair!!!!

None of these teams could be us with us having a bad, to horrible d.... if we field a decent to great d we will win this division again......

That's shortsightedness on the side of the 'experts' ... I guess it's normal to expect a team losing it's coaching staff to flounder a bit, but I would expect three teams in the NFL to be able to pull it off: #1, the Saints w/Drew Brees, #2, the Pats with Tom Brady, #3, the Packers with Aaron Rodgers. These three teams, and these three alone, I would expect to be able to win despite losing their respective head coaches.

It's the combination of previously having a good head coach with his system in place and an elite QB that gets you over this hurdle, IMO.

Honey Boo Boo is the newest star of reality tv. She's a chubby, blonde, 6 year old, southern Geogia beauty pageant regular and the youngest of 4 in a poverty line family of anti-intellectual, anti-exercise real Americans.

The falcons have to have zero injuries in order for them to make it. That's what gets me about the pundits. They seem to never look at a team's depth. They were mostly uninjured when they had that good record a couple seasons back. What happens if Turner or White or Gonzales goes down? They have no one to fill those roles.

Their main prob is that Matty Ice is good but not elite. If you don't have an elite QB you wont win a bowl anymore. They are run team first trying to convert to a passing team since passing teams are the new thing in the NFL. Matty ice can't make that shift.

We will when the division.

Re: What is the deal about the experts and the Falcons?

Everyone in the Saints organization keeps saying "Sean has us prepared to handle any adversity". If this is indeed true, and I believe it is, the Saints will come out and take care of business.
