A Roman general in the time of Caesar had a motto - "If it is possible, it is done. If it is impossible... it will be done." And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what I live by. -- Evel Knievel The 2012 Saints are Evel Knievel trying to jump his motorcycle over 50 school buses. It’s either the coolest thing you’ll ever see or complete disaster. I’m convinced this season has only two endings for the Saints. A few weeks ago I was thinking maybe 2012 would be a bloody street fight where Drew Brees and the offense drag them to 10-6. Nope. After the San Francisco 49ers ripped the Saints guts out in January and threw them into the worst off-season in the history of football this story can’t have a so-so ending. Either Drew Brees is getting handed the Lombardi trophy from a suicidal Roger Goodell in the Superdome or by December we just want 2012 to end as quickly as possible so we can put the nightmare behind us. No middle ground. And no I didn't read it, but you can by clicking this link! |

Great article. I have no doubt that the saints are going to blow up their opponents this year. They are mad as hell and nothing motivates more than anger.

At the risk of sounding like the Packers, the 40-whiners didn't beat the Saints as much as the Saints beat themselves! As much as I loathe San Fran, it is hard for me to get upset with a team that takes advantage of another teams mistakes to win a game. The same goes for the loss to the Seachickens a couple years ago. I can't be mad a Lynch for his run; I blame the Saints defense for letting it happen! Going into that game, the Saints run game was decimated, and even if the Saints had managed to beat Seattle, chances are that we would have lost the following week against Chicago. As much as I want the Saints to make it to the Super Bowl this year, to be truthful, I would be happy if the Saints won the division, just to show Kommisar Goodell that the New Orleans Saints, just like New Orleanians, can't be broken OR beaten!! |

Those last two passes to Vernon Davis were so bad my dog died. Alex Smith gutted us.

If it wasn't for our defense we would have 3 rings by now. I seriously believe Williams threw that game against SF because he knew he was getting fired.

Agree it's will be all or nothing. And we'll find out early. If they come out with the killer instinct like in 2009 we'll go all the way. Using the same formula as I did for the 2009 playoffs, score 100 points in first 3 games.

I only hope that if vilma is reinstated by then and the saints do, in fact, win the super bowl, that they allow vilma to accept the trophy from goodell. talk about your kodak moments.

Re: Forecast: 2012 will be all or nothing for the Saints
Defense has killed us in those play-off losses. The offense did enough to get it done, and then did enough again. The D let them down. So here we go again, if the defense is improved with Spags, we can get it done. If they give up the big plays, history repeats itself.
