Did I just hear that right on SF game?

Not broken , but tied.

I just turned on the 49's game and thought I heard that.

Records are made to be broken.
We all had wished that Morten Anderson would have done so during his Saints years.
Sort of keep it in the Saints ' family.

From what I heard the record was tied, 63, which Jason Elam (Denver I believe) had already done. I could be wrong tho. It said "63" on the screen as I watched him kick it. It will be all over the highlight shows if he broke it.

Impressive! I have been on a practise field with two kickers who were hitting 65 yard fieldgoals and it really is a sight to behold.

I am sure that who ever breaks the record - it will not stand nearly as long,

But the thing I admire about the record is - bot just that it was one of the most thrilling moments in sports history, or that it was achieved by a disabled person - but that he was strictly speaking - an average kicker.

He was an "everyman" proving that on sometimes we can all rise to the occasion.

Outside kick in Green Bay, the packers got no pressure on the kick, good kick but even better bounce of the crossbar, still a deserved tie for him.

Dempsey did it with half a foot. That still puts him on top of this list for me.

Not to thread-jack or anything, but did anybody see Vernon Davis get STUFFED by that same crossbar when he tried to dunk the ball ala Gonzo/Graham? Laughed my ass off, got some weird looks from the gf
