Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress?!?

No, maybe they aren't the specific people we need, but the point is we are now very thin at WR...

Guess Coach Payton knew what he was doing when he kept six guys on the roster...

Greg Camarillo?!?

We need someone that can run accurate routes with experience...

Lots of drops is not a depth problem. We weren't focused on offense.

I am worried about Devery. Whats the word on him?

My guess is Camarilo, since now his salary isn't guaranteed for the year. Tanner should probably stay on the PS for now.

Haven't heard, looked concussed, but guess I am stating the obvious there

Chad Johnson or 85 or Ocho Neueva Diez, whatever his name is and Palax Buress, no thanks. Their off field drama takes away from what they can do right on field and sometimes on the field, it is all about them first.
Saints need good players without drama on or off the field. Hearing a players ' name called for the right reasons in a game, like tonight on Sunday Night Football tonight featuring and starring Tracey Porter , fine.

I'll allow your indiscretion and lack of decorum as post game frustration over an opening day loss...

Responding to your statement - No one's jumping ship...

First, we have an already injured Colston who's play may or may not have been affected by an ongoing injury - this will play out during the coming week...

Second, Devery Henderson was knocked out of the game with a head injury - these can be very serious and I'm curious to see how Goodell responds this week...

Third, Lance Moore has never played 16 games and is more of a possession receiver...

Fourth, Courtney Roby has not played a whole lot at WR in his time here and is dedicated to special teams; I believe he's even the ST Captain...

Fifth, Joe Morgan while he's shown promising speed still has rookie hands (ie drop passes, fumbles); he's really improved, but he's got a ways to geaux...

Now, that's it, that's the WR Corps...

Two injured receivers; a solid complimentary receiver; a special teamer; and a guy really playing his rookie season...

Now, I wish we could borrow a page from the Patriots and do the reverse whereby some DB's could move over to WR - but as we've seen, our DBs can't catch the ball...

So, we will look back to Arrington who was cut and maybe, may be resigned; or Andy Tanner could be elevated from the Practice Squad...

I prefer revisiting the 6' 2" Greg Camarillo who worked out with Drew Brees during the offseason and was signed mid way through preseason...

It didn't help that he caught a TD today - but that guy's a big distraction in the locker room like TO...

Because of their attitudes I think their admission to the HOF should be delayed; and TO isn't what I'd put in the HOF anyways...

Their are WR options...

Not cool... http://smileys.on-my-web.com/reposit...py/mad-047.gif

As for the question at hand, like Danno said, I don't think it was really a matter of depth, but just a lack of execution on all fronts.

I guess they could bring in another guy if Devery's situation is worse than it seemed, and if Tanner still has that lingering injury from the preseason, but I don't think anything drastic needs to be done about the WR corps.

Camarillo could be someone they'll have another look at if they in fact need to bring in someone temporarily.

Sorry, folks. Morgan does not impress me.

I hope he turns it around. Right now I would NOT consider him to be a "gamer."

I caught myself missing Meachem yesterday. He has not been a superstar for us but dependable when called upon. Morgan has a way to go but shows potential. Drops were the killer yesterday. How many drops did we have? 10?

Maybe we can trade for one from the packers? They are always loaded with talent at WR

Re: Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress?!?

If Colston's and Henderson's injuries turn into something serious, we will be down to Moore, Roby and Morgan - that's it...

So I'd say we're on the thin side...

Ocho? Nocho! Burress? Maybe if we install a metal detector in the locker room... But hey, like we've already heard, AA's back!

I think Camarillo is more of a slot player who could fill in for Moore if needed. I can't think of anybody else who would be useful.

Re: Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress?!?

Is AA even healthy now he's returned? Don't see the point in signing him if he's still recovering

We best prepare a backup for him because if AA starts he'll be injured by half time

If Morgan can settle down and get the spacial relation between facemask and his hands figured out he may still be alright.

Is Deion Branch still available?

Re: Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress?!?

Colston is a WR on paper but it's been said before, he is basically a TE anyway you look at it. He's not going to play the role of a deep threat and neither is Moore. We need a deep threat. I thought Moore could do that but it's looking like it will take time and Devrey is hurt.

I thought for sure they would have moved on this by today of going get someone but it looks like they are content with what they have which is troubling. We need a deep threat yesterday. I'm fine with Chad, not something I'm proud of but he will stretch the field.

Should have signed randy moss when he came into have a workout and looked "incredible"
A one year deal wouldn't have hurt

Don't touch chad Johnson, if he couldn't understand new England's plays, learning our playbook would be like britney spears winning mum of the year, not gonna happen

Camarillo is my choice.

I want to choke myself everytime I hear A.A. mentioned.

Could Drew Brees be trying too hard in first season after $100 million contract?

Drew Brees called becoming the highest paid player in the NFL a sense of responsibility. Speaking right before training camp began in late July, Brees said he had to be careful not to place too much pressure on himself as the New Orleans Saints' $100 million man.

Re: Could Drew Brees be trying too hard in first season after $100 million contract?

Breezy has so much pressure on his shoulders. From the contract, to trying to be a leader, coach, leauge rep, and stay on top of his game without having Payton. No one can fault him for struggling out the gate, but even though he is doing on that he still has to play better. Let's all hope this Packers game is Brees best game by far.

I know one thing, with the way our line is protecting Drew I won't be surprised if he doesn't make it through the first half.

Just by signing for 100mill puts pressure...it puts pressure on him, the teams finances bla bla bla...but it is done... now do your job

Plaxico Burress ?

He is Not Chad nor Owens ... He is not a Primadonna

Plaxico Burress was a Pro Bowl WR and #1 Redzone target with ( ugh ) Mark Sanchez throwing the roc to him.

What could he be with a top tier Drew Brees ?

In Fact who are any stud WR's the Saints have that would be dominant else where ? ( Graham Excluded )

My point being this , Drew Brees does more with less , so why do we keep giving him less ? Ask what kind of numbers he would put up with a true Top Notch WR Like Calvin Johnson ? That would be Nasty !

Evidently we are missing Meachem ... Teams are unintimidated by our Wr's so in the past where we got Cover 2 Cover 3 and Drew lit them up , we are now getting Man coverage and our receivers are getting man handled .

Drew Should be dissecting people in Man but We have no legitimate I can Beat my guy 1 on 1 Talent at that Position. ( If we do I sure haven't seen it )

Plax would take double coverage off of Jimmy , Stop the Defense from putting a saftey atop Colston and force Teams to Leave the box less populated thus giving our Running Backs a Chance.

Just a theory ... I don't see why we are hurting at such a crucial position signing people we cut the next day . We Need it and we know it.

For once give Drew a receiver that established himself without a MVP caliber QB. For once Give Drew the real tools.
