Re: The reason the Saints brought back Greg Camarillo
With some urging from quarterback Drew Brees, the New Orleans Saints signed veteran receiver Greg Camarillo back in the preseason.
Camarillo didn’t make the opening-day roster, but he now is back with the Saints. Larry Holder reports the Saints re-signed Camarillo on Wednesday. That’s not surprising because the Saints are dealing with a couple of injuries at wide receiver. Starter Devery Henderson suffered a head injury in the season opener and Adrian Arrington, who recently was re-signed, is dealing with a knee issue. Camarillo worked out with Brees in the offseason as the quarterback was waiting for his new contract. The chemistry between the two was obvious during the preseason, so it shouldn’t be a major problem if the Saints have to use Camarillo as the No. 3 receiver behind Marques Colston and Lance Moore. Linebacker Barrett Ruud also has been added to the roster. Ruud was on the commissioner’s exempt list for Week 1. If Ruud stays on the roster until Sunday, he’ll get a nice payday. Ruud’s contract calls for him to collect a $65,000 bonus if he’s on the 53-man roster for one game. |
I'm no one.
Who are you? |

Re: The reason the Saints brought back Greg Camarillo
Because Brees had that "Oh shiit" moment when Henderson went down because he sure as hell can't trust AA or Morgan to catch anything.

I thought Camarillo was a slot receiver like Moore.

Re: The reason the Saints brought back Greg Camarillo
How can you say that? Morgan had two passes his way... Colston dropped a pass or two does that mean that Brees can't trust him to catch anything?

Re: The reason the Saints brought back Greg Camarillo
I have always liked Andy Tanner from the first time he layed hands on the ball.
I kinda hoped he would make the squad this year with AA yet again unavailable. I think he's still on the PSquad and can fill in as a posession guy if we need him. I also believe he could do even more if given the chance. |

Re: The reason the Saints brought back Greg Camarillo
Colston has proven he can catch balls in the regular season with consistency and his performance last week was a fluke. He and Colston have had years of chemistry and Brees knows he can trust him. Morgan has barely played in the regular season. Morgan hasn't proved anything in the regular season. So no there is no way in hell you can say Brees can't trust Colston because of two drops, but you can about Morgan.
