Jerry Fontenot steps back on roster
Associated Press
NEW ORLEANS -- From now on Sundays will be different for New Orleans Saints center Jerry Fontenot. Going into his 16th NFL season, Fontenot will not be in the starting lineup when the season begins. That snaps a 100-game streak with the Saints that dates back to 1997 when New Orleans acquired him as a free agent. A third-round draft pick by the Chicago Bears in 1989, Fontenot became a starter in 1992, and only injuries kept him out of the first-string lineup over the years. "It's a new role for me," Fontenot said. "But I think it's a good move." Click right here for the rest: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?...nfl&id=1849476 |

Jerry Fontenot steps back on roster
Thanks for the post. This guy is a class act. I think they should keep him around as a coach after this season. Alot of experience but most of all he\'s got the attitude we need for the rest of the team.
