As much as I hate the zebras I hate these guys more. If only because I want Der Kommisar to come across badly.

But when you look at it, those 2 is the difference between winning and losing that game even with the defense the way it was.

The Garcon TD play should of had a holding or illegal contact penalty as well since Harper was held enough to be prevented from making a play on Garcon, that is what led to that long TD.

I think it was during one of the preseaon games that the broadcasting team stated that the officiating crews (regular referees) got together sometime during this past year or two and discussed this exact situation and what to do in it.

They apparently came to the conclusion that they were consistently blowing the play over too quickly, and that is why they decided that they would in the future give more time for the scrum to develop before blowing the play dead (the forward progress), so that more plays could be made by players in those type of situations - both offensively and defensively.

So, with that in mind, I can't really fault the replacement refs for following that same guideline set by the regular referees.

I WISH they were college refs, the NCAA refs are in solidarity with the NFL refs, these guys are Arena Football refs that don't even know the rules of the game.
