Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
They should have done something it then!!
CHARLOTTE -- If there wasn’t bad blood between the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints already, there is now. Panthers players said the Saints showed no respect last season when they let quarterback Drew Brees and the rest of their starters play into the fourth quarter in pursuit of records in New Orleans’ 45-17 win in Week 17. Further fanning the flames was the offseason revelation that the Saints targeted Panthers quarterback Cam Newton in their bounty program. It’s not only Panthers players who were at odds with Saints coach Sean Payton’s decision to have his starters chase individual records in a lopsided game against an injury-depleted defense Read more here: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale - Panthers - NewsObserver.com |

Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
“When you’re going for it on fourth-and-1 when you’re up by 50,000 points, it’s what you’re supposed to do. But it’s not what you’re supposed to do, at the same time,” defensive end Greg Hardy said. “So I’m not happy about that.”
So, is it what you're supposed to do or not? |
Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
So they're whining because their defense couldn't stop Drew?

Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
“It’s a philosophy. It’s an attitude. And that’s what his is,” Panthers coach Ron Rivera said of Payton. “So he coaches that way and they play that way. My attitude and my philosophy is win the football game, and then be smart about the next week. That’s just the way I look at it, a difference in philosophy.”
They're killing me with these great quotes! So, Payton's philosophy and attitude is to win. That would make Rivera's philosophy to lose, right? Oh, and he also explained how he was being smart about the next week. "Hey, Ron, your team sucked. There wasn't a next week!" |
Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
Goddell should investigate. Their motivational tool sounds dangerous. You know, it's all about player safety.
|
Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
So, now what? You're "disrespected" because you suck, you're attitude sucks, and the world was exposed to your complete suckitude?
Saints should kick their butts just to show that there's no crying in football. |
Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale

Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
Wow, when did the NFL become Pop Warner football? Both teams have paid professionals who have a job to do. Just because one team can't do their job, doesn't me the other one needs to stop playing. I understand this argument at the youth and high school levels but once you get to the NFL, you should never complain about another team beating you by too many points or gaining too many yards. The panthers are bunch of big whiners and need to get over it.

Omy goodness will somebody give them some kleenex and tampons. There crying and bleeding. No pun intended ladys

Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
These guys are paid millions of dollars to play football for god's sake. There's no mercy rule in the pro's. I'm so sick of hearing any team whine about their opponent "running up the score." Shut up and do your job then go collect your paycheck for the game that's probably more money than I would make in 5 years.

Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
Wait, Everyone hold on. Are we saying the panthers are going to try and beat us. What the heck, bounty-gate and now the panthers want to get a win against us. I was hoping they would just lay down and let us get the win, oh well. ;)
|
Some play a 16 game schedule. Some have seasons a few games shorter. Carolina is used to a 10 game schedule before their season is over. You play to win the game 16 times then the playoffs.

Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
The Saints can't win!!
Remember in '06 when the Sean Payton & the Saints put a 42-17 beat down on Bill Parcells & the Cowboys? I remember the Saints being in position to score another TD, but kneeled on the ball to keep from running up the score and the Dallas players were incensed! The Cowboys defense said it was their job to stop the Saints! I hope the Saints score a 100 pts on the Panty Kitties! |
Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
Don't try to put too much meaning into the quotes.
They are just fodder for the reporters and for the fans. |
Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
Im surprised Steve Smith didnt beat somebody up. I guess he only
beats up his teammates. This is fun. Football should be more like wrestling. |

Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
Better focus Panthers - you've got a Superbowl GUARANTEE to hold up to.
|
"My attitude and my philosophy is to win the game."
Tell us again how that worked out for you oh great Panthetic Philisophisizer? I would argue that their coaches statement is disrespecting his team of grown assed men. |
Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
thank ya, Spike-Buh.

Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
Geez what a bunch of wussies.
Steal a laptop and sucker punch a teammate in the face, you'll probably feel better. |
Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
*****s. We pulled Drew with 8 minutes left and kneeled on their 20 yd line. What else do they want? If they are using that as motivation instead of using last weeks loss to a division rival then they have problems

Maybe we do the victory formation with 15 minutes left in the game this time and the refs call the game early? |

Re: Panthers haven't forgotten Saints' disrespect in 2011 finale
Have u ever noticed that the only teams that have complained publicly about us running up the score are the only two teams in our division (Falcons, Panthers) that haven't won a SB yet. And that attitude is the exact reason why they won't win anytime soon....
I hope we get back to what we do and beat these guys silly. One stat I saw on twitter that was very interesting. Cam Newton is 0-7 when he passes for more that 256yds....... |
